February 3rd - 7th

Possession:

Occurred at 9:33 AM (2/3) – Boylston Street

Officers responded to a report of suspected drug activity. Upon arrival the subject was subsequently transported to a local hospital for an overdose of a controlled substance. While the officer was assisting the patient out of the vehicle, the officer noticed drug paraphernalia in plain view, along with a plastic baggy of substance known to be a controlled substance. The subject was summonsed into court for the possession of controlled substance.

Occurred at 4:46 PM (2/4) – Babcock Street lot

Officers responded to a call of two subjects smoking marijuana in a parked vehicle. Upon arrival officers learned that the vehicle had smelled of marijuana. The subject admitted to having a small amount of marijuana. The two subjects were both issued town by law citation for possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.

Larceny:

Occurred at 9:07 PM (2/3) – Fairbanks Street

Officers responded to a report for an unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Upon investigation officers learned that two subjects had made an agreement regarding payments of a vehicle. One subject had not been keeping up with the agreement and the owner of the vehicle asked for possession of the vehicle back. Police requested that the non-paying subject be summonsed into Brookline District Court for the unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Robbery:

Occurred at 12:06 PM (2/4) – Harvard Street

Officers responded to a bank alarm from a local bank. Upon investigation officers learned that the subject had handed the teller a note requesting money. The teller handed over the money while another teller pulled the alarm. Police units responded to the area and conducted an intesive search of the area. The case is still under an ongoing investigation.

Occurred at 11:21 AM (2/5) – Harvard Street

Officers responded to a report of an attempted robbery. Upon investigation the victim stated that a man had followed her demanded her bags that contained newly purchased items. The subject subsequently followed the victim but fled the area before police arrived.

Breaking and Entering:

Occurred between 4:30 PM and 6:00 PM (2/6) – Englewood Avenue

Officers responded to a report of Breaking and Entering. Upon investigation officers learned that someone had entered the home through an open window. Multiple items were taken. Police are following several leads on this case.

Assault:

Occurred at 12:45 PM (2/4) – Payson Road

Officers responded to a report of an assault. Upon investigation the victim stated that male subject had shoved her by his shoulders and thrown snow at her over a parking issue. The suspect fled the area and police a conducting a following up investigation.

Occurred at 2:02 AM (2/6) – Heath Street

Officers responded to a report of an assault. Upon investigation officers learned that there was a dispute between a cab driver and 3 customers. It was concluded that there was a mutual assault between both parties. Police are requesting all four subjects be summonsed into Brookline District Court for mutual assault and battery.

Not duly licensed:

Occurred at 10:10 PM (2/4) – Harvard Street/ Babcock Street

Officers conducted a traffic stop for an illegal u- turn. Upon investigation officers learned that the drivers license was expired and he had failed to renew it. The driver was issued a town by law citation for illegal u-turn and not duly licensed, and was summonsed to Brookline District Court for the above offenses.

Arrests:

Occurred at 4:43 PM (2/4) – Harvard Street/ Alton Place

Officers conducted a traffic stop for an inspection sticker violation. During the stop officers detected strong odor of marijuana. After an investigation officers learned that the subject was in possession of marijuana. The subject was subsequently placed under arrest for operating after revocation and issued a citation for possession of marijuana.

Occurred at 4:43 PM (2/5) – Commonwealth Avenue

Officers conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle driving on the wrong side of the road. Upon investigation officers learned that the drivers license was suspended. The subject was subsequently placed under arrest for operating after suspension.


Occurred at 3:52 PM (2/5) – Harvard Street/ Holden Street

Officers responded to a report of a shoplifter fleeing from a local supermarket. As officers exited their cruisers to approach the fleeing vehicle, the vehicle crossed over to the other side of traffic and sped off. The officers then caught up with the fleeing subject and he was arrested for failure to stop for an officer, and shoplifting.

Occurred at 5:18 PM (2/6) – Harvard Street

Officers conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle traveling in the wrong direction. Upon the investigation officers learned that the driver had smelled of an alcohol beverage. The subject was subsequently placed under arrests for a marked lanes violation, operating with a suspended license, and operating under the influence of liquor.

Occurred at 9:09 PM (2/6) – Beacon Street

Officers approached two subjects in a vehicle who appeared to be in a verbal dispute. Upon investigation officers learned that the operator of the vehicle appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. The subject was subsequently placed under arrest for operating under the influence of liquor and operating after suspension.

Suspicious Behavior:

Occurred at 1:45 AM (2/2) – Beacon Street

Officers responded to a report for suspicious activity. Upon arrival officers learned that two subjects had been seen climbing down the fire escape of a local apartment building with flashlights. Although they were not located; there were no visible signs of attempted entry or damage done to the building or surrounding vehicles.

Larceny/ Shoplifting:

Occurred at 3:26 PM (2/2) – Beacon Street

Officers responded to a local grocery store for a report of larceny. Upon investigation officers learned that the subject had placed several bags of fruit into her purse without paying for them and attempted to leave the building. The subject was issued a no trespass order from the store and will be summonsed into Brookline District court for shoplifting

January 31st- February 1st

Arrests:
Occurred at 10:56 AM (1/31) – South Street

Officers received information from a local hospital stating a patient that has outstanding warrants was being released. Brookline Police confirmed a straight warrant out of Malden District Court, and the subject was placed under arrest without incident and transported to Brookline Police Department.

Occurred at 3:55 PM (1/31) – Washington Street

Officers received information from the Brookline District Court stating that there was a subject in the courthouse with outstanding warrants and that the judge was not able to process him at that time. The subject was subsequently placed under arrest and transferred to Brookline Police Station.

Threats:

Occurred at 7:15 PM (1/31) – Beacon Street

A victim reported to the Brookline Police Station for threats that had been made against him. The victim stated that when he returned to his home there was an unknown male sitting in his garage. After brief questioning and argument the subject threatened to slash his tires.

Theft:

Occurred at 9:02 PM (1/31) – Newton Street

Officers responded to a call for theft of gas/ non payment of gas. Upon arrival the gas station attendant stated that a gray Mercedes Benz had pumped gas and then drove off. Police are conducting a follow up investigation.

Possession:

Occurred at 10:29 PM (1/31) – Washington Street/ Pond Avenue

Officers conducted a traffic stop for an occupant of a vehicle who threw garbage out of the window, and into the street. Upon investigation officers learned that the litter had been a clear baggy used for holding marijuana. Officers could smell marijuana and conducted pat frisks on the individuals in the car. Officers found marijuana as well as drug paraphernalia. All for subjects were issued citations for the civil crime of possession of marijuana.
