8/26-8/29

Larceny:

Occurred between 8/26-8/29 – Monmouth St.

A generator, a Multi-Quip MQ45, was reported missing from a construction site. The only way it could been taken was to have been towed away. The phrase “CAT 26” was on the side of it.


Burglary:

Occurred Overnight, 8/28-8/29 – Harvard St./Babcock St.

Officers who had responded to the area for a commercial break were canvassing the area speaking to restaurant owners about any suspicious activity. A business owner reviewed his surveillance footage and noticed a suspicious person on his premises at 3:46 AM. The suspect had attempted to open the rear door as well as the door to neighboring businesses and was unsuccessful. He then flees in the direction of Greenway Ct.

The suspect is described as a black male of light complexion, 6'0-6'2, 25-35y.o., medium build, and wearing a blue New-Era brand hat, black T-shirt, light-blue jeans, and grey sneakers with white soles and laces. The suspect also appears to have neck and arm tattoos.


Occurred Overnight, 8/28-8/29 – Harvard St./Babcock St.

An officer on patrol in the area noticed the glass door to the front of a business had been shattered. Money had been taken from the register. Detectives are investigating to determine whether the recent commercial breaks in the area are related.


Occurred Overnight, 8/28-8/29 – Cypress St.

An officer on patrol in the area noticed the glass door to the front of a business had been smashed by a brick. Nothing was noted missing, but there were similar breaks in Brighton around the same time with the same MO. The incidents may or may not be related at his time.


MV Accident:

Occurred at 6:30 PM on 8/27 – Kent St./Aspinwall Ave.

A vehicle traveling east on Aspinwall Ave. collided with a vehicle traveling south on Kent St. Due to conflicting accounts from the witnesses it is unclear who had the right of way and who was at fault. Significant damage occurred to both vehicles as well as to a tree, a street sign, and private property of the owner of the home in front of which the accident occurred. The driver of one vehicle was transported to the hospital.


Occurred at 4:56 PM on 8/27 – Horace James Rotary

A driver entering the Horace James Rotary was struck from behind by another vehicle. A passenger in the first vehicle was transported to the hospital, and the driver of the second was issued a citation for following too closely.


Occurred at 3:49 PM on 8/26 – Lee St.

An 18-wheeler traveling in the left lane on Lee St. swerved and struck a motor vehicle traveling in the right. The vehicle suffered serious damage and was towed, and the 18-wheeler suffered minor front bumper damage. There were no reported injuries.


OUI:

Occurred at 3:40 AM on 8/27 – Boylston St./Heath St.

An officer on patrol observed a motor vehicle pass his stationary position going very quickly. By matching the speed he was able to determine it was traveling 60 mph in a posted 35 mph zone. The operator was also observed failing to stay within marked lanes. A motor vehicle stop was initiated. After conducting further investigation, the operator was determined to be Operating Under the Influence.
