7/15-7/18/2011

Found Property:

Occurred at 10:52 AM on 7/16 – Beacon St./Harvard St.

An officer discovered a wallet on the sidewalk at the above intersection. It is being held at the station for safekeeping.

Burglary:

Occurred at 2:12 AM on 7/17 – Cypress St.

A caller observed the rear door of a restaurant to be smashed. Officers responded to the scene and discovered the cash register had been cleaned out. After viewing store surveillance, officers are continuing their investigation.


Occurred at 4:15 PM on 7/15 – Kent St.

Officers responded to the area for a reported Breaking and Entering and Burglary. The victim left her apartment for 2 hours and returned to find her apartment door had been pried open and several valuables were missing.

When the officers arrived, they discovered the apartment next door had also been broken into, and several valuables were also missing. Both scenes as well as the foyer of the building were processed and the investigation is continuing.

O.U.I.:

Occurred at 12:43 AM on 7/17 – Boylston St./Chestnut Hill Ave.

An officer on patrol observed a motor vehicle speeding, conducting lane changes where not allowed, and attempting to pass on the right. When a stop was conducted, the officer noticed a strong odor of alcohol and slurred speech from the driver. After further investigation, he was placed under arrest.

MV Accident:

Occurred at 11:26 AM on 7/17 – St. Paul St./Sewall Ave.

Officers responded to the area for a motor vehicle accident. One vehicle was traveling on Sewall Ave when it was struck by another on the side. The vehicle that was struck was then propelled into a third vehicle, which was parked. There were no injuries reported.


Occurred at 2:51 PM on 7/15 – Beacon St./Dean St.

Officers responded to the area for a motor vehicle accident. Vehicle 1 had a green signal and proceeded through the intersection, when Vehicle 2 on the cross street made a right turn on the red signal, colliding with Vehicle 1. Four individuals were transported to the hospital for minor injuries.

MV Break-in:

Occurred at 4:15 PM on 7/17 – Brookline Ave./Aspinwall Ave.

Officers responded to the area for a reported motor vehicle break-in. The victim reported a backpack missing.


Occurred at 4:00 PM on 7/17 – Brookline Ave./Parkway Rd.

Officers responded to the area for a reported motor vehicle break-in. The owners of the vehicle parked it and returned half an hour later to find the front passenger window smashed and a cell phone was taken. The investigation is continuing.


Occurred on 10:30 AM on 7/16 – Auburn St.

Officers responded to the area for a reported motor vehicle break-in. The victim stated that sometime overnight someone had smashed her rear windshield, and a brick was discovered on the floor of the car. Nothing was reported missing. The investigation is continuing.
