August 6th Police Reports

ARREST

  • Occurred at 4:01AM (8/06) - 182 Naples Road

Justin Lavoie, 20 yrs, was arrested and charged with Disturbing the Peace, Possession of a class D substance (Marijuana), and Minor in Possession of Alcohol.

Police responded to a noise complaint call and upon arrival witnessed 6 youths jumping atop of a camper which was parked in an alleyway. Three of the youths fled but the other 3, one of whom is identified as Justin Lavoie were all spoken to and charged accordingly. Officers learned that the three had been drinking and a search of Lavoie’s vehicle yielded a bottle of liquor. In addition two marijuana pipes were also found in the vehicle and Lavoie was subsequently charged. Additionally, all three were charged with disturbing the peace.

Larceny

  • Occurred at 4:51Pm (8/06) - 249 Cypress Street

Earlier in the month of July this victim reported to police she believed one of the property managers she works with was taking money from the establishment. The victim is a trustee and at the earlier time she reported this she had no direct evidence linking the suspect to the crime. However, on this occasion the victim produced numerous pieces of evidence that indicate the suspect, who is also an official with the property, made two checks out to himself and attempted to cover it up by doctoring paperwork. The suspect will be summoned to court for two counts of larceny.

  • Occurred between 3PM and 11PM (7/26) - 294 Harvard Street

Police responded to CVS for an accidental 911 call but upon arrival a store employee wished to report her bike stolen. She reported it was stolen sometime while she was at work in late July. The bike is a Purple Schwinn mountain bike valued at $75.

Operating after Revocation

  • Occurred between 2:54AM and 3:17AM (8/06) - 96 Boylston Street

An officer on patrol noticed a vehicle exceeding the posted speed limit. Upon speaking with the driver it was learned the man’s license had been revoked. The driver will be summoned to court for Speeding and Operating after Revocation.

August 4th Police Reports

Arrest

  • Occurred at 8:21AM (8/04)- Cypress Street/ Boylston Street

A juvenile was arrested and charged with being Not Duly Licensed, and Possession of a Class D Substance (Marijuana).

Police on patrol witnessed a vehicle make a U-Turn through a red light. Upon pulling the vehicle over it was learned that the driver only had learners permit and was not licensed to drive. He was subsequently arrested. While doing a standard inventory search of the juvenile’s belongings officers found 2 bags of a green leafy substance which appeared to be marijuana. Subject was additionally charged.

  • Occurred at 12:05PM (8/04)- Boston Common

Robert Shea, 43 yrs, was arrested by detectives for an outstanding warrant.

Larceny

  • Occurred between 11:30PM (6/30) and 11:34AM (7/10)- 1080 Beacon Street

Victim reported she believes she left several oil paintings in the elevator of her building while moving in. The value of these paintings is around $800

  • Occurred between 10AM and 2:29PM (8/04)- 750 Commonwealth Avenue

Manager at Guitar Center reports that a Music Converter (Apogee Ensemble audio interface) was stolen from the store sometime during the day. This item was valued at approximately $2000.

Malicious Damage

  • Occurred at 12:46AM (8/04)- 12 St. Paul Street

Victim awoke to glass breaking and upon investigation found a rock had been used to break his living room window. Anti-Semitic remarks were written on the rock, as well as on an additional rock found on the victim’s outdoor patio. There are no similar incidents reported in Brookline and this seems to have been an isolated incident. Detectives are investigating.

  • Occurred between 11:00PM (8/03) and1PM (8/04) - 215 Winchester Street

Victim reported that sometime overnight four roses had been ripped from her flower bed. The value of these flowers is unknown.

Operating After Revocation

  • Occurred between 12:55Am and 1:10AM- 44 Washington Street

Police noticed a vehicle driving with a trash bag from the trunk covering most of the license plate. Upon pulling the vehicle over it was learned the driver had a revoked license. The suspect will be summoned to court for Operating after Revocation, and Operating with an expired Inspection Sticker.

August 5th Police Reports

ARRESTS

  • Occurred at 1:58AM (8/05)- 1651 Beacon Street

Matthew McGrath, 24 yrs, was arrested because of several outstanding warrants.

Officers were called to Golden Temple to escort a man from the premises who was trying to enter after hours. The man who was identified as Matthew McGrath had several outstanding warrants. He was subsequently arrested.

  • Occurred at 2:11AM (8/05)- 1110 Beacon Street

Luis Acevedo, 30 yrs, was arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct.

Detectives noticed a man park his vehicle in an alleyway, peep into a window of an apartment, then return to his vehicle and drive off. Police followed the man and pulled him over after he made several motor vehicle infractions. The man admitted to looking in the window and acknowledged he needs help with this issue. He was subsequently arrested.

  • Occurred at 2:52AM (8/05)- 599 Brookline Avenue

Eugeniy Dolzhenkov, 36 yrs, was arrested and charged with Failure to Stop at a Red Light, Operating after Revocation, and a Default Warrant.

Police noticed a vehicle fail to stop at a red light. Upon pulling the car over police learned that the driver later identified as Eugeniy Dolzhenkov had a suspended license. Furthermore, Dolzhenkov also had an outstanding warrant out for his arrest. He was subsequently arrested.

Larceny

  • Occurred between 8:30PM (8/04) and 10:53AM (8/05)- 1223 Beacon Street

Victim reported sometime overnight her vehicle’s rear window was smashed and items were taken from her backseat. Although her $1000 GPS navigation system was untouched a bag containing curtains was stolen from the vehicle. The curtains were valued at $60.

  • Occurred between 1:30PM and 2PM (8/05)- 315 Harvard Street

Victim reports she left her bankcard inside the ATM, and $200 was fraudulently withdrawn from her account.

  • Occurred between 10AM (7/27) and 4PM (8/05)- 127 Fuller Street

Victim reports while he was on vacation two bikes were stolen from his open garage. One bike is a grey woman’s Trek equipped with a child seat. The second bike is described as a royal blue Specialized mountain bike. The value of these two bikes is approximately $450.

  • Occurred between 6:30PM (8/03) and 6:30PM (8/05) - 31 Hyslop Road

Victim reports while walking he noticed papers under a bush near his vehicles location. He reports that upon investigation he discovered his laptop case and business papers in the bush. He then checked his vehicle and noticed his laptop had been stolen from the back seat.

August 3rd Police Reports

ARRESTS

  • Occurred at 11:23 PM – (08/02/07) – 82 Fuller Street

David Vincini, 29 yrs, was arrested and charged with Possession of a Class B substance (Cocaine) and Operating after Revocation.

Detectives were monitoring a vehicle in the area of Fuller Street. When the occupant saw officers the man exited his vehicle and approached them. Police took this opportunity to speak with the man about his activity. While speaking with police, the man later identified as David Vincini was extremely nervous. He was physically shaking and his story continually contradicted itself. Further investigation revealed the man’s license had been revoked since 1998. The man then told officers there was a small amount of cocaine in the driver’s door of his vehicle. Police recovered the cocaine and upon further investigation were led to believe the man had just purchased drugs in this area.

After speaking with David Vincini police were told he had purchased drugs from a man nearby their current location. When a passenger in a taxi drove by while the officers were questioning Vincini, he was identified as the man who sold the drugs. The man, who was later identified as Donald Iezzi, 52 yrs, was found to have had several unexplainable calls from Vincini and was in possession of a large amount of cash. Iezzi was arrested and charged with distributing drugs (Cocaine) within a school zone.

  • Occurred between 2AM and 3AM (8/03)- Harvard Street/ School Street

The first suspect was arrested and charged with malicious damage, and disorderly conduct

Michael Ferraro, 24 yrs, was arrested and charged with malicious damage, disorderly conduct, and a default warrant.

Nicholas Ferraro, 22 yrs, was arrested and charged with malicious damage, disorderly conduct, and a default warrant.

Officers received calls of several youths kicking trash and throwing other objects into the street. The police interviewed the subjects who were then identified by witnesses as the ones who were kicking trash in the street. In addition to kicking trash the three had also damaged a number of items such as flowerpots, 4-5 trashcans, as well as street signs.

  • Occurred at 4:04PM (8/03/07)- 900 Commonwealth Avenue

Joseph MacDonald, 26 yrs, was arrested and charged with Shoplifting and possession of a Class A Substance.

Nicole Mandigo, 22 yrs, was arrested and charged with Shoplifting.

An employee at CVS reported that two suspects were stealing from the store. When police approached one of the suspects, later identified as Nicole Mandigo, attempted to flee. When she was apprehended police discovered $328.58 worth of stolen goods in her possession. Mandigo then identified her partner who had fled prior to police arrival as Joseph MacDonald. MacDonald was apprehended a short distance away. A search of MacDonald yielded a bag of a brown substance believed to be a Class A Narcotic. He was subsequently arrested.

Malicious Damage

  • Occurred between 8:30PM (8/02/07) and 8:53AM (8/03/07)- 1 School Street Lot

Victim reported that she had parked her car in the School Street parking lot overnight and when she returned in the morning her driver’s side mirror was damaged. The cost of this damage is unknown.

  • Occurred between 11PM (8/02) and 6AM (8/03)- 1330 Beacon Street

Victim reported that sometime overnight a rock was thrown through their side window.

  • Occurred between 11PM (8/02) and 6AM (8/03)-1354 Beacon Street

Victim reports sometime overnight a rock was thrown through their window shattering it.

  • Occurred between 1PM (8/02) and 10:30PM (8/03)- 144 Cypress Street

Victim reported he had parked his car in his driveway overnight and when he returned the next morning he found key marks on the hood of his vehicle as well as on the front bumper.

Larceny

  • Occurred between 1:16PM (7/23) and 1:16PM (8/02) - 115 Greenough Street

A teacher at Brookline High School reported that $125 in cash was stolen from the Language Department. The money was kept in an unlocked file cabinet and very few people knew of it whereabouts.

August 2nd Police Reports

Arrests

  • Occurred between 11:23AM and 11:45AM (8/02)-2 Brookline Place

Amos Coakley Jr. was arrested and charged with providing false information to a police officer, larceny, as well as failure to appear in court.

Victim reports she went to yoga and placed her red leather wallet in her cubby hole prior to the class. When she returned later the wallet was missing. Police diligently patrolling the area noticed a subject who fit the description of the man seen on surveillance tapes. Upon further investigation it was determined this was the man who stole the wallet. Once getting the suspect detained the man gave police a false name and social security number. Further investigation revealed the man's real name was Amos Coakley Jr, and he had several warrants out for his arrest. Coakley is believed to have been involved in several other recent larcenies in the area.

Malicious Damage

  • Occurred between 10:00PM (8/01) and 7:42AM (8/02)- 1901 Beacon Street

Victim reported her Toyota SUV was parked in the rear lot of 1897 Beacon Street and was vandalized overnight. Her passenger side taillight was smashed.

  • Occurred between 10:00PM (8/01) and 7:42AM (8/02)- 1901 Beacon Street

Victim said her Nissan Altima was parked in the rear lot of 1897 Beacon Street and was damaged overnight. Her driver’s side rear window was smashed.

  • Occurred between 12:30AM and 8:21AM (8/02)- 1901 Beacon Street

Victim reported his Honda minivan was parked in the rear lot of 1897 Beacon Street and was damaged overnight. His driver’s side tail light was broken.

  • Occurred between 10:00PM (8/01) and 8:22AM (8/02)- 1901 Beacon Street

While responding to another malicious damage call officers noticed a grey Acura which had been smashed and damaged. The broken pieces on the ground lead offices to believe this vehicle was involved in the same above instances of malicious damage. The owner of the vehicle was notified.

  • Occurred between 10:00PM (8/01) and 8:24AM (8/02)- 1901 Beacon Street

While responding to another malicious damage call officers noticed a black Audi which had been smashed and damaged. The broken pieces on the ground lead offices to believe this vehicle was involved in the same instances of malicious damage. The owner of the vehicle was notified.

  • Occurred between 10:00PM (8/01) and 8:25AM (8/02)- 1901 Beacon Street

Victim reported her Suzuki SUV was parked in the rear lot of 1897 Beacon Street and was damaged overnight. Her side headlight had been smashed.

Attempted Larceny

  • Occurred between 6PM (8/01) and 8:30AM (8/02)- 637 Washington Street

Victim reported sometime overnight his headlights and hood had been damaged. It appears that someone had attempted to take out his headlights in addition; his hood had several pry marks under it.

  • Occurred between 7PM (8/01) and 9:25AM (8/02)-652 Washington Street

Victim reported he parked his car in the rear lot of the building and when he began driving it in the morning he noticed a strange sound. Upon investigation the victim noticed that he was missing his driver’s side headlight and grille. The passenger’s side headlight was also barely intact.

Harassment

  • Occurred at 9:41PM (8/02)- 33 Kenwood Street


Police responded to a call of a woman being harassed by a man in a car. Victim reported that while walking her dog a van passed slowly and whistled at her. The woman felt frightened by this whistle and explained it did not seem like a typical macho gawking whistle. She continued down the street but was weary of walking home because the man in the van would know where she lived. The van stopped a few doors down from where the victim lived and at that point the victim saw a few of her neighbors outside. When she stopped to speak with them the van drove away. The van was described by witnesses as a Honda Passport. A similar make and model of vehicle was seen a few blocks away from where the victim reported being followed. The car was stopped and its driver was told as to the officers suspicions. The man will be summonsed to court for criminal harassment.

July 31st Police Reports

ARRESTS

  • Occurred at 11:20PM (7/31)- 205 Beverly Road Baker School

Michael Laham, David Maggioli, Matthew Nasif and Max Peskin were all arrested and charged with minor in possession of alcohol, trespassing, and violation of the open container law.

Police at the Baker School noticed a suspicious vehicle entering the parking lot after hours. Upon approaching the vehicle officers noticed a 30 pack of beer in the backseat as well as an open beer can in the front seat. The subjects in the vehicle were subsequently arrested.

Larceny

  • Occurred between 9PM (7/30) and 8AM (7/31)- 3 Caitlin Road

Victim found the drivers side window of her vehicle smashed and her Louis Vitton handbag missing from the vehicle. Inside the handbag were two pairs of eyeglasses and miscellaneous makeup, a garment bag containing a suit jacket and a scarf were also stolen from the vehicle. The total value of all these items is approximately $2500.

  • Occurred between 11:30AM(7/30) and 10AM (7/31)- 226 Harvard Street

Employee at Ten Thousand Villages reported to police that a customer had left their wallet inside the store and she had secured it in the back room. However, when the owner came to retrieve the wallet it was missing. The wallet itself was valued at $60, and contained $20 cash.

  • Occurred between 9PM (7/30) and 6AM (7/31)-75 Goddard Avenue

The victim reported her unlocked car was entered overnight while parked in her driveway. Taken from the vehicle was about $40 to $50 in cash and various identification and bank cards.

False Identification

Occurred at 1PM (6/11) - Dean Road/Clinton Road

Officers on patrol noticed a vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign. The operator did not have a license in his possession. He gave police a name and was given a citation for running a stop sign and not having a license in his possession. However it was learned the man whose name was given to officers was not the man stopped. The man whose identity had been used gave police the name of one Michael Jamgochian. Jamgochian will be summoned to court for Providing False Information to a Police Officer, Operating with a Suspended License, and various traffic offenses.

August 1st Police Reports

Malicious Damage

  • Occurred between 3AM and 3:30PM (7/31)- 3 Summit Avenue

Victim reports that sometime overnight his neighbors awoke to his car alarm sounding. Upon investigation the victim said he found his front grill had been forcefully removed from the front end of his vehicle.

Occurred between 7:01PM (7/01) and 7:01PM (8/01) - 166 Rangeley Road

Victim reports that a BB pellet damaged his dining room window sometime over the last month. The cost of this damage is unknown.

LARCENY

  • Occurred between 1:30PM (7/25) and 8AM (7/26)- 64 Westbourne Terrace

A camp counselor reported that she had left her cell phone inside one of the classrooms at the Driscoll School overnight. The class room was unlocked during that time and when the victim returned the next day the phone was gone. The phone was valued at about $100.

  • Occurred between 3AM and 12PM (8/01)- 86 Verndale Street

Victim reports that her Marin Redwoods mountain bike was stolen from her property some time overnight. The value of this bike is unknown.

  • Occurred between 7AM and 4:30PM (7/31)- 209 Harvard Street

Victim reported her wallet was stolen from her office sometime during the day. The wallet is a brown Louis Vatton containing several identification cards and credit cards as well at $20 cash. Her credit card was charged with over $400 in fraudulent purchases. This case is still under investigation.

  • Occurred between 2:02PM and 3:02PM (8/01)- 50 Pleasant Street

Victim notified police that she found her credit card missing from her wallet and about $80 worth of fraudulent charges attributed to it. She claims she last used the card in late June and cannot recall how or when it might have been stolen.

  • Occurred between 12:00AM (7/24) and 5:36PM (8/01)- 24 Alton Place

Victim reports that her Diamond bracelet was missing from her residence. She had several guests as well as a moving company into her residence at the time this bracelet went missing. The value of the bracelet is $3500.

Operating

  • Occurred at 2:56AM (8/01)- 59 Verndale Street

Police on patrol noticed a suspicious vehicle with two occupants idling for over 10 minutes. Upon investigation it was learned the owner’s license was revoked. The operator and owner of the vehicle was charged with not having a registration in possession, Operating a Motor Vehicle After License Revocation, and Idling Greater than 5 minutes.
