6/12/17

0105hrs - An officer on patrol in an area of Beacon Street observed a pedestrian crosswalk detector/signal lying on the sidewalk with electrical wires exposed. The DPW was notified and responded to the location. Traffic cones were placed around the fallen detector/signal to temporarily resolve the problem.

0819hrs – An officer responded to Commonwealth Ave for suspicious activity. The reporting party stated he noticed a purse and a few items on the ground behind a vehicle in the rear lot. A surveillance video showed that at approximately 0539hrs on 6/12/17, a white male possibly 30-40 years old wearing gray shorts and a baseball hat with black shoes and a red back pack walked through alley and placed 2 empty boxes, a black purse, and a passport on the ground. Detectives are following up on the suspicious activity.

1100hrs – An officer observed a motor vehicle accident on Beacon Street. A blue freight company truck was traveling past a construction site when it came into contact with the extended arm of the aerial lift.  No injuries occurred but, the truck sustained damage to the right front corner of the box portion.

1147hrs – An officer responded to Newton Street at LaGrange Street for a report of a traffic crash with no injuries. One of the operators stated he was exiting the traffic circle when another vehicle entered the traffic circle resulting in a crash. The second operator stated that he was entering the traffic circle and did not yield prior to entering. Vehicle 1 sustained major damage to the right side. Vehicle 2 sustained major damage to the front left and front right corners. Both vehicles were moved to the side to await towing services. Operator 2 was issued a citation for Failure to Yield to a motor vehicle in a Rotary.


1729hrs – An officer responded to Walnut St for a report of a bicycle that was stolen from the pool on Tappan St. The reporting party stated that his son left his Black bicycle in the bicycle rack at approximately 0800 hours. When he returned at approximately 1500 hours, the bicycle was gone. The bicycle has a welded seat and a silver bell on the left handle bar.
