Traffic Arrest 5/6/2014

On May 6, an officer observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on Beacon Street. The officer initiated a traffic stop in the area of 1648 Beacon St. and took identification from the driver and passenger, who was not wearing a seatbelt. Additional officers and a State Trooper arrived on scene to assist. Officers learned that the passenger had an active warrant in effect. The passenger was resistant to officers but was eventually placed under arrest. A search of the arrestee yielded a loaded firearm and marijuana was found inside the vehicle. The passenger is being charged with possession of a gun without an FID, possession of ammunition, and resisting arrest. He is also being cited for failure to wear a seatbelt and possession of less than one ounce of marijuana.
