Larceny: 08/04/2013 at 10:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. – Lawton St.
An officer received a report on August 6, 2013 about a stolen bicycle. The victim reported she left the bike locked to a pole on Lawton St. When she returned for it later that night, the bicycle had been stolen.
Drug Violation: 08/06/2013 at 6:15 p.m. – Commonwealth Ave.
Officers were dispatched to a pharmacy on Commonwealth Ave. after receiving a report of a past larceny. Upon arrival, officers met the regional loss prevention manager who stated the larceny originated in January 2013 and had continued on until the present time. The manager stated he began receiving complaints from customers about missing pills in January and, in response, had installed surveillance cameras. The manager was able to observe an employee taking pills from filled prescription bottles before giving them to the customers. Upon seeing this, the manager attempted to schedule an appointment with the employee. However, the employee continued to avoid the appointment by changing shifts and calling in sick to work. On August 6, 2013 the manager was finally able to meet with the employee and report the crime to Brookline officers. The suspect was placed under arrest for Larceny of a Controlled Substance and Possession of a Class E Substance.

Not Duly Licensed: 08/06/2013 at 3:13 p.m. – Newton/ Clyde St.
An officer observed a vehicle travel through a stop sign without stopping. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Newton St. A query revealed the operator’s license was expired. The operator was placed under arrest for being Not Duly Licensed.
Sector 9
Operating After Suspension: 08/06/2013 at 4:52 p.m. – Horace James Circle
An officer observed a vehicle traveling at an accelerated speed. The officer initiated a traffic stop at the Horace James Circle. A query revealed the operator had a suspended license. The operator was placed under arrest for Operating After Suspension.
O.U.I.L: 08/07/2013 at 12:54 a.m. – Boylston St./ Eliot St.
An officer observed a vehicle traveling at an accelerated speed with its hazard lights on. The officer initiated a traffic stop on Boylston St. A strong odor of alcohol was emanating from the vehicle. The operator had blood shot, glassy eyes and slurred his speech when questioned by the officer. After conducting a field sobriety test, the officer determined the operator was intoxicated and placed him under arrest for Operating Under the Influence of Liquor.
