October 9th 2008 Police Reports

Larceny

  • Occurred between 6:00AM (10/09) and 5:30PM (10/09) – 474 Chestnut Hill Ave

Victim reports that upon returning home from work she observed that one of her large decorative pineapples from her front steps had been stolen. The decorative piece is valued at $400.

October 7th 2008 Police Reports

Larceny

  • Occurred between 4:00PM (10/07) and 5:00PM (10/07) – 209 Harvard St

Victim reports that he had locked his bicycle to a parking meter on Harvard Street. Upon returning to retrieve his bicycle he observed that both his bicycle and lock were missing. The bicycle is described as a Bridgestone 21 speed men’s bike valued at $500.

  • Occurred at 9:55AM (10/07) – 1322 Beacon St (CVS)

Officers were dispatched to a report of a shoplifting that had just occurred. Officers on patrol stopped three individuals matching the description of suspects who had taken large amounts of packaged candy from a CVS. Officers recovered the stolen material and placed the suspects under arrest. Allegedly this is the second time the suspects have shoplifted from this location.

O.U.I.L

  • Occurred between 8:07PM (10/07) and 10:40PM (10/07) – Brookline Ave/ Aspinwall

Officers were dispatched to a report of a motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival police met with one of the drivers who had struck a parked vehicle before crossing over the double yellow lines and engaging in a head on collision with another vehicle. Further investigation revealed that there were several bottles of alcohol containers found in the driver’s vehicle. The driver will be summoned to court for operating under the influence of alcohol, driving to endanger, and leaving the scene of a personal injury accident.

October 6th 2008 Police Reports

Larceny

  • Occurred between 8:30AM (10/06) and 7:45PM (10/06) – 155 Naples St

Victim reports that upon returning home he observed that his bedroom door was slightly open and that his Mac laptop was missing from his room. Victim states that the apartment door had been left unlocked and that nothing else appeared to be missing.

  • Occurred at 11:59AM (10/06) – 1309 Beacon St

Officers were dispatched to a report of a shoplifter in custody. Upon arrival further investigation revealed that the suspect had placed two bottles of wine valued each at $65.99 into a plastic bag and had attempted to flee the store. Suspect will be summoned to court on two counts of shoplifting.

  • Occurred between 7:00PM (10/05) and 9:30AM (10/06) – 91 Verndale St

Victim reported that he had left his bicycle unlocked, parked at the rear of his home. When he went to retrieve his bicycle he observed that it was missing. The bicycle is described as a black Hardrock mountain bike with multiple stickers on it.

  • Occurred between 8:53AM (9/27) and 8:53AM (10/06) – 77 Perry St

Reporting party states that she noticed that her son’s bike was missing from their backyard. The bike is described as a purple Trek boy’s bike valued at $80.

Burglary

  • Occurred between 9:00AM (10/06) and 5:45PM (10/06) – 223 Gerry St

Victim reports that upon returning home she observed that her Lenovo ThinkPad laptop was missing from her desk in her kid’s bedroom. Victim states that she had left her rear apartment door unlocked. Nothing else appeared to be missing.

Graffiti Law

  • Occurred between 3:00PM (10/05) and 8:30AM (10/06) – 420 Harvard St

Reporting party states that he discovered graffiti spray painted on the side of his building located at the intersection of Harvard St and Fuller St. The graffiti read “Nova” and was written in red spray paint.

  • Occurred between 5:00PM (10/03) and 10:14PM (10/06) – 205 Beverly Rd

A Baker School Custodian reported that someone had tagged several areas of the school building with graffiti. The first tag was an inappropriate image drawn on the rear of the building in black paint. The second tag read “Reg One” and was written in metallic silver paint with a gold star painted next to it.

Breaking and Entering MV

  • Occurred between 3:30PM (10/05) and 7:48AM (10/06) – 159 St Paul St

Victim reported that upon returning to her vehicle in the morning she observed that someone had gone through her vehicle and taken several items. Missing items included a pair of Maui Jim sunglasses, a brown Eddie Bauer suede woman’s jacket and $10 in quarters. The vehicle had been left unlocked.

October 3rd - 5th 2008 Police Reports

Arrest

  • Occurred at 2:17AM (10/05) – Pleasant St/ Thatcher St

An officer on patrol stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. Further investigation revealed that the driver had a default warrant and was operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. He was placed under arrest.

  • Occurred at 12:53AM (10/04) – 1477 Beacon St

Officers were dispatched to a report of a fight in progress at a MBTA station platform. Upon arrival police observed several parties flee the scene. After stopping one suspect further investigation revealed that he was in possession of an illegal substance and was placed under arrest and charged with possession of a class D substance.

  • Occurred at 11:52AM (10/03) – Dummer St/ Essex St

An officer on patrol observed a vehicle traveling down a restricted area and nearly hit an officer directing traffic. After stopping the vehicle further investigation revealed that the driver’s right to operate a motor vehicle had been suspended. The driver was placed under arrest and charged with operating to endanger and operating after suspension.

  • Occurred at 5:00PM (10/05) – Essex/ Commonwealth

Officers on patrol stopped two individuals who fit the description of two suspects who had just robbed a 7-11. Further investigation revealed that one of the suspects was in possession of a firearm. Both suspects were placed under arrest and charged with armed robbery. The crime occurred in Boston and the subjects were turned over to the Boston Police Department.

Breaking and Entering MV

  • Occurred between 3:00PM (10/03) and 12:00PM (10/04) – 174 Freeman St

Victim reports that he had parked his rental vehicle in his assigned spot in his parking lot. Upon returning to his vehicle he observed that his driver’s side front window had been smashed. Victim states that his Gamin GPS, Apple laptop computer and a pair of sunglasses were missing.

Burglary

  • Occurred between 10:30PM (10/03) and 11:25PM (10/03) – 73 Verndale St

Victim reported that upon returning to his apartment he observed that his window screen had been ripped and that his bedroom window was fully opened. Victim noticed that his black backpack that contained his Cannon 5D camera, 3 camera lenses, a flash, and his medication was missing. His Apple G4 power book and his ESP guitar were also stolen from bedroom.

Larceny

  • Occurred between 11:45AM (10/03) and 2:20PM (10/03) – 1306 Beacon St

Victim reports that she was dining at a restaurant when she observed that her wallet was missing from her bag. Her bag had been placed on the rear of her chair during her dining. Victim states that she might have left it on the counter when she paid for her meal. The wallet contained various cards and identification papers.

October 2nd 2008 Police Reports

Breaking and Entering/ Larceny MV

  • Occurred between 7:00PM (10/01) and 7:18AM (10/02) – 210 Rangeley Rd

Victim reported that sometime overnight someone smashed the front passenger side window of his motor vehicle and took his wallet from his on his front seat. The wallet contained personal papers and several cards. Nothing else appeared to be missing.

  • Occurred between 7:00PM (10/01) and 7:00AM (10/02) – 132 Beverly Rd

Victim reported that sometime overnight someone had entered both her and husband’s vehicles that were parked in their driveway. Victim states that both vehicles were left unlocked. She noticed that her I-pod and black ladies Coach Bag were missing from her vehicle. An I-pod was also taken from her husband’s vehicle.

Found Property

  • Occurred at 9:55AM (10/02) – 1440 Beacon St

A men’s bicycle was removed from a pole at 1440 Beacon St by the Department of Public Works. For retrieval please contact the Brookline Police Department.

Larceny

  • Occurred between 9:00AM (9/18) and 10:10AM (10/02) – 1281 W Rox RK

Reporting party states that she noticed that the two Pepsi machines located in front of the Starter’s building each had approximately $200 in cash missing. There were also 7 cases of soda and 3 cases of Gatorade missing from each machine. It was observed that the machines were opened using a “remote” key. There were no signs of damage done to the machine.

  • Occurred between 8:30AM ( 10/02) and 2:50PM (10/02) – 115 Greenough St

Victim states that he had locked his bicycle to a pole at Brookline High School. When he returned to retrieve his bicycle he observed it was missing and found the bike locks discarded on the ground. The bike is described as a dark men’s Trek mountain bike valued at $400.

Arrest

  • Occurred at 10:10PM (10/02) – Boylston St/ Hedge Rd

A police officer on patrol observed a vehicle weaving between lanes at excessive speed. After stopping the vehicle further investigation revealed that the driver’s right to operate a motor vehicle had been suspended. The driver was placed under arrest and charged with operating after suspension.

Liquor Violation

  • Occurred at 11:57PM (10/02) – 68 Egmont St

Police responded to a report of a loud party complaint. After arriving on scene police observed multiple bottles of alcoholic beverages around the apartment. Further investigation revealed that the tenants were all under the age of 21. They will be summoned to court for minor possession of alcohol, procuring alcohol and disturbing the peace.

October 1st Police Reports

Malicious Damage

  • Occurred between 11:00PM (9/30) and 8:46AM (10/01) – 135 Warren St

Victim reported that sometime during the late evening her storm door window of her home had been broken. Police officers observed that the door was still locked and there was no sign of forced entry.

Breaking and Entering/ Larceny MV

  • Occurred between 3:30PM (9/30) and 8:45AM (10/01) – 80 Toxteth St

Victim reported that he had left his work vehicle on the side of the street at his work site. After leaving his job site he observed that his T – Mobile Sidekick cell phone valued at $250 and his blue Nikon Digital Camera valued at $300 were missing. Victim states that he had left his vehicle unlocked.

Found Property

  • Occurred between 6:45PM (10/01) and 7:30PM (10/01) – Chestnut St

A bicycle was found discarded in front of a house. The bike was found with its front wheel locked to its frame. It had been left unattended for a few days. For retrieval please contact the Brookline Police Department at (617) 730- 2786.

Arrest

  • Occurred at 1:40AM (10/01) – Commonwealth Ave/ St Mary St

A police officer on patrol pulled over a vehicle for a traffic violation. Further investigation revealed that the driver was in possession of illegal substances. The driver was arrested and charged with possession of a Class A substance, 2 counts of possession of a Class E substance, operating without a license and unsafe lane change.

September 30th Police Reports

Larceny

  • Occurred at 3:25PM (9/29) – 115 Greenough St

Victim reports that she is a member of the Brookline High School cross country team and while at practice her backpack had been stolen. She states that the team leaves their backpacks in a pile at Cypress Field while they practice. Her backpack contained several schoolbooks, a Sidekick cell phone valued at $200, an I-pod Nano valued at $250 and a set of keys.

Malicious Damage

  • Occurred between 1:00PM (9/29) and 4:30PM (9/29) – Davis Ave/ Emerson St

Victim reported that upon returning to his parked vehicle he observed written on his hood “kill environment”. It appears that the words were written in white sharpie pen.

September 30th Police Reports

Larceny

  • Occurred between 4:00PM (9/29) and 9:30PM (9/29) – 53 White Pl

Victim reports that he had left his bicycle unlocked in the front of his friend’s house while visiting. When he went to retrieve his bicycle he observed it was missing. The bicycle is described as a black American Fler single speed bike, with silver handlebars. The word “Bulletproof” is on the crank case. The bike is valued at $275.

Arrest

  • Occurred at 7:05PM (9/29) – Boylston St/ Reservoir Rd

An officer on patrol observed a motor vehicle traveling at excessive speed. After stopping the vehicle further investigation revealed that the operator was operating with a suspended license. She was placed under arrest.

Malicious Damage

  • Occurred at 12:00PM (9/20) – 15 East Milton St

Victim reported that she had parked her vehicle on the street in front of her house and when she returned she observed that all four tires of her vehicle had puncture holes in their sidewalls.

Indecent Assault and Battery

  • Occurred between 7:00AM (9/29) and 7:22AM (9/29) – 1316 Beacon St

Victim states that as she was waiting in line at Dunkin Donuts a male who had just exited the bathroom, passed her and indecently assaulted her as he exited the shop. The suspect is described as a black middle aged man, 5’9” about 160 to 170 pounds wearing a black jacket and black pants.

Assault/ Robbery

  • Occurred at 4:01AM (9/29) – 1010 Beacon St

Police responded to a report of an assault and battery. Upon arrival police met with the victim who stated that while he was smoking a cigarette outside of O’Leary’s Pub he was approached by a male who assaulted him and then stole his money out of his coat pocket. The suspect is described as a muscular, blonde hair white male with a mustache wearing a red sox hat and a large ring on his hand.

September 26th - 28th Police Reports

Larceny

  • Occurred between 4:45PM (9/28) and 5:10PM (9/28) – 155 Harvard St


Victim reports that she was shopping at Stop& Shop and had left her cart unattended to examine some produce. When she returned to her cart she observed that her black canvas bag that contained her cell phone, house keys, medications and $100 was missing.

Burglary

  • Occurred between 5:00AM (9/28) and 12:33PM (9/28) – 9 Kenwood St

Reporting party states that after waking up he went downstairs to his kitchen. Upon entering the kitchen he observed that someone had smashed the kitchen door window and had gained entry into the house. Nothing appeared to be missing. A neighbor earlier reported that an intoxicated male had knocked on her door and left upon her opening it. She described the suspect as a white male wearing a black t – shirt and jeans.

  • Occurred between 3:00PM (9/26) and 8:00PM (9/27) – 423 Harvard St

Owner reports that upon opening his restaurant in the evening he found that his front check out area was in total disarray. Many items were moved around and his cash register was found on the floor. Further investigation revealed that the suspect had gained entry by prying open the basement door.

Arrest

  • Occurred at 11:58AM (9/27) – Park St

A police officer was dispatched to a report of a truck who had struck a town sign. After arriving on scene the officer met with the driver and the occupant. The driver was placed under arrest after a driver’s check revealed that his license had been suspended. The occupant was placed under arrest after a check revealed that he had four active warrants.

  • Occurred at 10:12PM (9/27) - Park St

Police officers were dispatched to a report of a domestic dispute. Upon arrival police meet with the reporting party who states that she was arguing with her sister when her sister picked up an alarm clock and threw it at her, causing injury to her head. She was placed under arrest for domestic abuse.

  • Occurred between 2:33PM (9/26) and 2:33PM (9/26) – 115 Greenough St

Police officers responded to a report of an assault at Brookline High School. Police were informed by various witnesses that two students were involved in a domestic dispute that became physical. One suspect was arrested and charged with two counts of domestic assault and battery.

Found Property

  • Occurred at 2:51PM (9/28) – 66 Atherton Rd

A men’s brown wallet was found in front of a house at Atherton Rd. For retrieval please contact the Brookline Police Department.

  • Occurred at 10:03AM (9/27) – Emerson Park

Breaking and Entering/ Larceny MV

  • Occurred between 9:36AM (9/24) and 9:36AM (9/25) – 100 Goddard Ave

Victim reports that he parked his vehicle in the rear of his condo and upon returning to it he discovered that someone had entered his vehicle. He observed that the glove compartment had been tampered with and that his IPod valued at $250 was missing. The car had been left unlocked.

Found Property

  • Occurred at 2:30PM (9/25) – Downing Rd/ Orchard Rd

The Highway Department removed a boy’s mountain bike from a street sign near the intersection of Downing Rd and Orchard Rd. For retrieval please contact the Brookline Police Department (617) 730-2786.

September 24th Police Reports

Attempted Burglary

  • Occurred between 6:00PM (9/23) and 7:47AM (9/24) – 320 Washington St

Office director for the Mass. Rehabilitation Commission reports that upon returning to work in the morning he observed that the front door had been pried open. There were visible scrape marks on the inside of the door and the lock was found on the floor. Nothing appeared to be missing.

Breaking and Entering MV

  • Occurred between 7:45PM (9/23) and 8:46AM (9/24) – 227 Cypress St

Victim reported that upon returning to his vehicle he observed that his front passenger window had been smashed. He noticed that the glove compartment had been tampered with and that his wallet that contained various cards was missing. Nothing else appeared to be missing.

  • Occurred between 11:30PM (9/23) and 8:45 (9/24) – 227 Cypress St

Victim reported that upon returning to his vehicle he observed that his front passenger side window had been smashed and that seven dollars in quarters had been taken from his center console.

Larceny

  • Occurred between 4:20PM (9/24) and 4:30PM (9/24) – 234 Harvard St

Store owner reports that one of his employees was taking lunch in back of the store and had left the front register unattended. During this time someone entered the store and stole both rolls of Lucky Shamrocks and Happy Birthday scratch ticket batches. The tickets are kept in a plastic dividing case located behind the register counter at the front of the store.

September 23rd Police Reports

Arrest

  • Occurred at 12:00AM (9/23) – 365 Boylston St

Police on patrol were dispatched to a report of an individual trying to cash two checks that were flagged by the bank as being stolen. The suspect was placed under arrest and charged with receiving stolen property, attempted larceny over $250, and uttering.

Fraud

  • Occurred between 12:00PM (9/02) and 4:00PM (9/23) – Summit Ave

Victim states he sold a drum set on Craig list for $500 and received a check from the buyer. Upon reviewing the check, he saw that it was made out for more money than he asked for. He contacted the buyer who instructed him to deposit the check into his account and return $1250 in cash via money gram, which he did. He was notified later that the check the buyer had given him had bounced.

Larceny

  • Occurred between 12:00PM (1/19) and 5:00PM (9/21) – 126 Woodland Rd

Victim reported that he and his wife have been staying at their Florida home for the past several months. Upon returning back to their Brookline home his wife observed that several of her baby and maternity clothes which she keeps in large plastic containers, were missing from the attic. She also noticed that a bag that contained jewelry was missing from her bedroom closet. There were several jewelry boxes moved around the bedroom with jewelry missing from them as well. There was no sign of force entry at the house.

September 22nd 2008 Police Reports

Larceny

  • Occurred between 9:00AM (9/19) and 2:00PM (9/19) – 1083 Beacon St

Victim reported that upon returning to his motor vehicle he observed that his front license plate had been removed. There was no damage done to the mounting bracket of the plate so it appears that the plate was removed with a tool.

Arrest

  • Occurred between 9:00PM (9/21) and 10:00PM (9/21) – 400 Heath St

Police were dispatched to a report of a larceny at Pine Manor. During the course of their investigation security guards stopped two individuals matching the description of the suspects. Further questioning revealed that one of the individuals is a current resident. School officials were called to provide a master key and after searching the suspect’s room, police recovered several stolen items from the current and from a past larceny committed earlier this week. Both suspects were arrested and charged with larceny over $250, receiving stolen property over $250, and breaking and entering with intent to commit a felony.

Arrest

  • Occurred at 12:07 AM (9/19) – Commonwealth Ave/ St Marys St

An officer on patrol observed a vehicle traveling at excessive speed. After stopping the vehicle further investigation revealed that the driver’s license had been suspended. He was placed under arrest.

Larceny

  • Occurred at 10:20AM (5/29) – 77 Pond Ave

Victim reports that he observed that his wallet was missing from the bottom drawer of his filing cabinet at his place of employment. The wallet contained $1000 in cash, and other personal identification papers. Nothing else appeared to be missing.

  • Occurred between 3:00PM (9/19) and 7:37AM (9/20) – 25 Newton St

Victim reports that sometime overnight his front plate to his motor vehicle was either lost or stolen. His vehicle was parked at the Brookline Parks Dept. Yard.

  • Occurred between 5:10PM (9/21) and 5:45PM (9/21) – 400 Heath St

Victims reported that they live in on- campus housing and had left their room for approximately 20 minutes with their door unlocked and open. Upon returning they observed several items stolen. Stolen items included a XBOX 360, 2 XBOX controllers, 3 XBOX video games, an LG cell phone, and a black Samsung cell phone, a black wallet, a flash drive, computer keyboard, a digital camera, an IPOD Nano and a Playstation video game console. Detectives will be conducting a follow up investigation.

Graffiti

  • Occurred between 1:30AM (9/21) and 7:12AM (9/21) – 7 Harvard Sq

Reporting party states that he observed graffiti written on the side of a building. Officers on scene observed the word “AYCE” written in white bubble letters.

  • Occurred at 7:40AM (9/19) – 144 Boylston ST

Reporting party states that he observed graffiti written on the roof of the Liner Tire building. Officers observed three tags in various locations on the roof top. The tags were “SEC”, “TANS” and “FAME”.

Breaking and Entering/ Larceny MV

  • Occurred between 10:15AM (9/20) and 12:34PM (9/20) – 60 Regent Cr

Victim reported that upon returning to his vehicle he observed that the right rear passenger window had been smashed. Victim states that his laptop and his black cloth laptop case valued at $600 were taken from his passenger seat.

  • Occurred between 7:00PM (9/18) and 8:00AM (9/19) – 637 Washington St

Victim reported that upon returning to his vehicle he observed that his driver’s side window had been smashed and that his driver’s side steering wheel air bag was missing. The vehicle’s glove compartment and center console were also found open. Nothing appeared to be missing.

September 18th Police Reports

M/V Theft

  • Occurred between 1:00AM (9/18) and 1:00PM (9/18) – 347 St Paul St

Victim reports that he had parked his vehicle in the rear parking lot of the Brookline Housing Authority and upon returning to his vehicle he observed that it was missing. He was advised that his vehicle was not towed.

Larceny

  • Occurred between 8:00PM (9/17) and 2:00PM (9/18) – 576 Washington St

Victim reported that upon returning to her vehicle she observed that her passenger door was slightly open and that her rear tail lights were missing. It appeared that the suspect unlocked the truck and removed the rear trunk covers which accessed the tail light bolts.

Breaking and Entering

  • Occurred between 10:00AM (9/18) and 11:00AM (9/18) – 59 Denny Rd

Victim reports that she received a phone call from her housekeeper who stated that as she was cleaning she heard someone enter the home and go upstairs. The housekeeper then confronted an individual who identified himself as a painter. After questioning him, the suspect went downstairs and exited the house stating he would come back later. He is described as white male approximately 5'10", 30-35 yrs old, medium build and short hair. He used the name Joe. Nothing appeared to be missing.

Larceny


  • Occurred between 9:00AM (9/14) and 5:00PM (9/17) – 1897 Beacon St

Victim reports that upon returning to her vehicle she observed that her glove compartment had been opened. She noticed that her registration and a handicap placard belonging to her mother were missing. Victim reports she is unsure whether her vehicle was locked. There were no signs of forced entry.

  • Occurred between 8:00PM (9/16) and 6:00AM (9/17) – 25 Holly Lane

Victim reports that sometime overnight her vehicle was broken into. Victim observed that both her car mirrors had been pried out and the wires were cut, damaging the housing. Nothing else appeared to be missing.


Arrest

  • Occurred at 8:15PM (9/17) – Smythe St

Officers were dispatched to a report of a domestic dispute. Reporting party states that both parties were verbally arguing when they both became physical. One individual was placed under arrest and charged with domestic abuse and the second individual was arrested and charged with being disorderly and resisting arrest.

  • Occurred at 2:22AM (9/17) – Harvard St

An officer on patrol pulled over a vehicle for a traffic violation. After stopping the driver, further investigation revealed that the driver had an active warrant and that his license had been suspended. The driver was placed under arrest.

September 16th Police Reports

Graffiti Law

  • Occurred between 6:00PM (9/15) and 12:51PM (9/16) – 654 Brookline Ave

Reporting party states that sometime overnight the rear side of his building was vandalized with graffiti. The word “AYCE” was written on the building using black spray paint.

Breaking and Entering MV

  • Occurred between 12:01AM (9/16) and 2:30PM (9/16) – 135 Pleasant St

Victim reports that he had parked his vehicle in his driveway and upon returning to it he observed that the driver’s side window had been smashed. Victim states that his Trio cell phone was missing from the center console of his vehicle.

Arrest

  • Occurred at 6:57PM (9/16) – 19 Green St

Officers on patrol pulled over a driver for a traffic violation. After stopping the vehicle further investigation revealed that the driver’s license had been suspended. He was placed under arrest and charged with operating after suspension and making an illegal turn.

  • Occurred at 9:04PM (9/16) – St Paul St/ Freeman St

Police on patrol stopped a vehicle that matched the description of a car involved in a recent hit and run. Upon approaching the driver, police noticed a strong odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle. The driver was placed under arrest and charged with operating under the influence of alcohol, operating after suspension, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, and for marked lanes violation.

September 12th – 15th 2008 Police Reports

Malicious Damage

  • Occurred at 9:00AM (9/12) and 6:45PM (9/15) – 65 Pleasant St

Victim reported that she had parked and locked her bicycle to a street sign and upon returning to retrieve it she observed that her rear tire had been slashed.

  • Occurred between 10:00AM (9/14) and 6:18PM (9/15) – 65 Pleasant St

Victim reported that he had parked his bicycle on a street sign pole and upon returning to retrieve his bicycle he observed that the rear tire had been slashed. This is the second incident that has occurred at this location.

  • Occurred between 6:15PM (9/13) and 6:30PM (9/13) – 599 Brookline Ave

Victim reported that upon returning to her vehicle she observed that there was damage done to her front windshield. She observed that the windshield had impact cracks at the base which stretched out across the windshield. It appeared the windshield had been broken by a hardball.

Breaking and Entering

  • Occurred between 2:45PM (9/15) and 4:50PM (9/15) – 213 Pleasant St

Victim reported that upon returning to her vehicle she observed that her driver’s side window had been smashed and found that her Gamin GPS unit had been taken from the dashboard and her IPod was taken from the front area of the car. A rock wrapped up in a black shirt was left at the scene.

  • Occurred between 10:15PM (9/13) and 4:54PM (9/14) – 1129 Beacon St

Victim reported that upon returning to his vehicle he observed that the passenger side window had been smashed. Victim reports that his Gamin GPS unit valued at $350 and his Apple IPod valued at $299 were both taken from the armrest compartment of his vehicle.

  • Occurred between 4:27PM (9/13) and 4:30PM (9/13) – 66 Lawton St

Reporting party states that she saw a black male exit his vehicle and using a rock smash the driver's side window of a parked pick-up truck. She then observed the suspect reach into the vehicle and take a portable GPS unit. The suspect is described as a black skinny male, 6’2, wearing a blue t-shirt and jeans. He was driving a light blue Toyota Corolla and was traveling with another unidentified suspect.

  • Occurred between 6:30PM (9/12) and 11:00PM (9/12) – 135 Pleasant St

Victim reports that upon returning to his vehicle he found that his driver’s side front window had been smashed. Stolen from his vehicle were a Gamin Nuvi portable GPS unit and a Samsung MP3 player.

Larceny

  • Occurred at 5:21AM (9/14) – 182 Thorndike St

Store owner reports that he observed eight Sunday edition newspapers valued at $22 missing from the entrance way of his convenience store. Video surveillance showed a suspect go under the locked gate which is slightly ajar to allow the papers to be placed inside, and remove the bundle of newspapers.

  • Occurred at 6:33PM (9/13) – 0 Highland St

Police were dispatched to Harry Downes Field for a report of a breaking and entering in progress. Police arrived on scene where a witness reported that she saw six individuals fleeing the sports equipment storage shed with stolen items. Police later stopped six individuals matching the description of the suspects and they will be summoned to court on larceny charges.

  • Occurred between 8:30AM (9/12) and 6:09PM (9/12) – 1815 Beacon St

Victim states that he had locked his bicycle to his back porch. When he went to retrieve it he observed that his bicycle was missing. The bicycle is described as a gray Gary Fisher mountain bike valued at $800. The lock and chain that held the bike to the porch was also missing.

  • Occurred between 3:15PM (9/11) and 3:45PM (9/11) – 43 Columbia St

Victim reports that her daughter’s bicycle was stolen from their driveway. The bicycle is described as a Gary Fisher 18 speed black and gray mountain bike valued at $400. The bike has a Black Burn bike rack attached to the rear.

Arrest

  • Occurred at 1:56PM (9/13) – Lee St/ Dudley way

A police officer on patrol stopped a vehicle traveling with an expired inspection sticker. Further investigation revealed that the driver was operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. He was placed under arrest.

  • Occurred at 1:10AM (9/13) – Beacon St

Officers were dispatched to a report of a dispute. After arriving on scene officers meet with the reporting party who states that during a heated argument she was pushed by her roommate. The roommate was later placed under arrest for assault and battery.

  • Occurred at 12:03PM (9/13) – Harvard St

Police on patrol were dispatched to a report of a moving truck that struck a fire escape of a building. After arriving on scene further investigation revealed that the driver was not duly licensed. He will be summoned to court for operating without a license.

Attempted Burglary

  • Occurred between 6:27AM (9/12) and 7:11AM (9/12) – 1244 Boylston St

Employee reports that she arrived at work and found one of the rear doors to her work office broken and partially opened. Nothing was discovered missing or out of place.

September 11th 2008 Police Reports

Attempt Breaking and Entering MV

  • Occurred at 10:09AM (9/11) – Brookline Ave/ Riverway

Reporting party states that he noticed an individual attempting to open his car door. He then observed as the individual approached several other vehicles and attempted to open their doors. After he confronted the suspect, the suspect fled inside the Brigham Women's Hospital. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, wearing a white t-shirt, blue jeans and a black baseball hat. He was carrying a black backpack with the letters “U.S.A” written in white lettering.

Malicious Damage

  • Occurred between 11:30AM (9/11) and 1:17PM (9/11) – Monmouth St/ St Marys St

Town employees reported that they received a call about damaged points on the top of the iron clad fence surrounding the Town of Brookline’s Monmouth Park. They reported that the iron clad fence was missing approximately 24 points off of their posts. Each pointed piece is valued at $100.

Larceny

  • Occurred between 8:30AM (9/11) and 1:00PM (9/11) – 345 Harvard St

School teacher reports that he had left his cell phone on the outside pocket of his work bag which he left in his computer lab on his desk all day. After returning to retrieve his bag he observed that his cell phone was missing. The phone is described as a LG valued at approximately $150.

  • Occurred at 6:13PM (9/11) – 155 Harvard Street (Stop and Shop)

Police were dispatched to a report of a shoplifting in progress at a Stop and Shop. After stopping the suspect police recovered from his backpack several stolen food products totaling $15.98. He will be summoned to court for shoplifting.

Arrest

  • Occurred between 4:10AM (8/23) and 8:50PM (9/11) -227 Babcock St

Police were dispatched to a report of a restraining order violation. Police were notified that the caller has a restraining order against her boyfriend who has placed several calls and left several messages on her phone. Police located him and placed him under arrest.

September 10th Police Reports

Breaking and Entering of a MV

  • Occurred between 11:45PM (9/09) and 11:45AM (9/10) – 258 Cypress St

Victim reported that upon returning to her vehicle she observed that her passenger side door was open and that several items inside her car were missing. Missing items included a Tom Tom GPS unit, a brown Coach wallet containing various cards and personal identification papers, the title to her car, and $70 in cash.

  • Occurred between 6:00PM (9/10) and 8:30PM (9/10) – 68 Monmouth St

Victim states that upon returning to his vehicle he observed that his passenger side window had been broken and that his GPS unit and power cord were missing.

Found Property

  • Occurred at 9:26AM (9/10) – 333 Washington St

An employee for the park department found a girl’s bicycle that has been left in the bushes for three days. For retrieval please contact the Brookline Police Department.
