12:59 PM: Police were dispatched to
Kent Street for a report of a past Breaking and Entering of a motor vehicle.
The resident’s vehicle was parked in their driveway and was last entered on
March 20 at approximately 2PM. The reporting party returned to the vehicle at
9AM (on 3/21) and discovered items in the vehicle were out of place and her
center console storage compartment was opened. The owner reported that the
transponder to her garage was missing, but nothing else. Police are
investigating.
4:53 PM: Officers were dispatched to a business
on Harvard Street for the report of shoplifting. An Officer arrived on scene
and met with store staff who reported that they observed a male in an aisle
attempting to conceal items by putting them in a shopping bag he was carrying.
The Officer observed the man in the aisle and witnessed him continue to place
items in the bag as the employees had reported. The Officer, who was in full
police uniform, approached the man. The suspect then put the bag down and began
to walk away. The Officer informed the man that he had witnessed him place
several items into his bag. After a brief investigation, the man was advised
that he was going to be placed under arrest for shoplifting. Officers attempted
to place handcuffs on him, but the suspect resisted. A brief struggle ensued,
and officers were able to gain control of the suspect’s arms and place him into
custody. Officers determined that the suspect had 50 bottles of nail polish in
his bag valued at over $500. The suspect is charged with Shoplifting and
Resisting Arrest.
