SHOPLIFTING - Officers responded to a shoplifting in progress on Beacon St. The reporting party shared a description of an individual who just left the establishment with unpaid merchandise. The suspect was later found on Harvard St. The matter was resolved and the suspect will be summoned to court. 

FRAUD - Officers responded to a larceny report on Washington St. where the victim shared that they received an email that someone made a fraudulent charge on their company's PayPal account. The victim called the phone number on the email and the caller said that they made a mistake and credited the account with an large amount of money. The caller then advised the victim to purchase gifts cards in order to fix the amount of  money on the account. While at a store to purchase gift cards, store employees stopped the victim was purchasing the gift cards. The victim contacted police after.

Monday, April 19, 2021

ANIMAL BITE - Officers responded to Blake Rd. for an animal bite where the victim was out for a morning run and a group of turkeys came towards them and one made contact with them. The victim contacted police and special attention will be given to the area.

LARCENY - Officers responded to Commonwealth Ave. for a report of theft. It was reported that the subject stole from the tip jar of the establishment and left the store. Officers have a description of the suspect and are trying to get surveillance footage. 

LARCENY - Officers responded to Lawton St. for a past larceny. The victim shared that they noticed shoes were missing from their foyer and upon looking at their Ring camera footage, they see a subject take their sneakers and exit the vestibule. Officers are following up with a description and footage of the suspect.

Tuesday, April 20, 2021 

LARCENY - Officers responded to a larceny report on Freeman St. where the victim shared that they contacted a company to get a refund for an unauthorized charge. The spokesperson for the company claimed that they mistakenly refunded more than the agreed upon amount. They requested that the victim buy gift cards and provide them the access codes in order to resolve the issue. After the victim did so, they realized they had been scammed and contacted police. 

FRAUD - Officers responded to a report of unemployment fraud where the victim shared that their social security number was used to file for unemployment benefits.

LARCENY - Officers responded to a larceny report on Beacon St. where the reporting party shared that their backpack had been stolen. They shared that they left their backpack at their workplace and when returning later, the backpack was gone. A door in the building was found ajar and officers are trying to get surveillance footage at the moment.

 TUESDAY, APRIL 13, 2021

FRAUD - Officers responded to an identity theft report where the reporting party shared that while checking their credit report, they found an unauthorized charge. While trying to dispute the claim, the party was informed that their identity and personal information was used to open an account. The party contacted police and was advised to contact the Social Security Fraud Hotline. 

FRAUD - Officers responded to a report of fraud where the reporting party claimed that someone tried to make an unemployment claim under their name. The party contacted police as well as the 3 major credit bureaus.

GRAFFITI - Officers responded to a report of graffiti on Adams St. where the homeowner shared with officers that someone had written all over their wooden fence. At this time, officers are waiting for the homeowner to retrieve camera footage in attempt to identify the perpetrator. The same graffiti was observed on Babcock St. 

THREATS - Officers responded to a report of a dispute on Harvard St. The caller stated that while roller-skating at a park, they had their dog tied to the basketball hoop. While there, an individual at the park started to berate the caller over the use of the basketball court. Police arrived to the scene and  resolved the dispute. 

LARCENY - Officers responded to a larceny report on St. Paul St. where the reporting party claimed that while leaving for work, their car would not start. The caller arranged for their vehicle to be towed and was notified by the dealership that their catalytic converter had been removed from the vehicle. Detectives are attempting to get camera footage from the area.

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 14, 2021

BICYCLE THEFT - Officers responded to a report of bike theft on Carlton St. where the reporting party shared that they left their motorized bicycle unlocked in the back of the building. When returning to get their bike, it was missing. Detectives are following up on the case.

FRAUD - Officers responded to a fraud report where the victim shared that they were using Craigslist to advertise a room. Someone responded to them and sent a check for the room. The check had a greater amount than what was agreed upon so the victim sent the difference back via online transfer. A couple of days later, the check bounced and the victim realized that they had been scammed. 

LARCENY - Officers responded to two reports of stolen catalytic converters from Toyota Prius'.

SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY - Officers responded to a suspicious activity report on Freeman St. where the reporting party shared that they observed an individual walking into the bushes near the entrance of the property. They also shared that the individual was looking into windows and possibly trying to gain entry. The individual then walked into the building and then the reporting party went into the building to inform the security guard of their findings. They contacted police and are trying to view surveillance footage. 

SHOPLIFTING - Officers responded to a shoplifting report on Harvard St. where the reported party shared a description of the suspect who was currently crossing the train tracks on Commonwealth Ave. Officers were able to recover the stolen items. 

SHOPLIFTING - Officers responded to a shoplifting report on Harvard St. where the reporting party shared that there were two suspects who stole merchandise and left the store towards Commonwealth Ave. The suspects were later located in Boston  and the items were recovered by officers. 

SHOPLIFTING - Officers responded to Harvard St. for a customer disturbing where an individual with signs of intoxication and agitation entered the store without a mask. When asked to wear a mask, the individual became agitated and picked up a book and threw it to the ground. They then picked up another book and left the store without paying. When confronted by an employee about the book, the individual threw the book at the employee along with displaying other assaultive actions. Officers found the suspect near a bus stop in the area. They deescalated the situation and the individual was transported for further evaluation.

THURSDAY, APRIL 15, 2021 

LARCENY - Officers responded to a larceny report on Harvard St. where the reporting party shared that they brought their laptop to work and after a fire drill was conducted in the building, they returned with their laptop gone. Officers are waiting on the serial number and checking if there is surveillance footage.

FRAUD - Officers responded to a fraud report where the victim shared that someone called them claiming to be an official from the Social Security Administration. They requested the victim's social security and photo of their passport. The victim complied and then was asked for gifts cards in various amounts. At this time, the victim called the police where they were advised to contact the major credit bureaus and the Department of State.

PACKAGE THEFT - Officers responded to a package theft on Park St. where the reporting party shared that they received an email informing them of their delivered package. When they went to retrieve the package, it was not there.

Wednesday, April 7th, 2021

FRAUD - Officers responded to a fraud report where a victim had been scammed into purchasing gift cards in various amounts and giving the access codes to the scammer via phone call. Officers are attempting to identify the subject from the phone number. 

FRAUD - Officers responded to an identity theft report where the reporting party claimed that they responded to an advertisement for a job. When the party was contacted about the job, they were asked for pertinent information. When they provided the information, they realized that it could have been a scam and blocked the number that contacted them. They were then contacted again via a communication app and the subject inquired about transferring money. The party blocked that number as well and contacted police and their credit bureaus. 

PACKAGE THEFT - Officers responded to a package theft report on Cypress St. where the victim reported that they received a notification claiming that their package was delivered. Upon returning home from work, there was no package on their porch. Officers are looking for surveillance cameras near the residence. 

PACKAGE THEFT - Officers responded to a package theft report on Englewood Ave. where the victim reported that when they checked the tracking information website, it stated that their package was delivered. When they retrieved their package later that day, it had been opened and the contents were missing. This prompted them to contact police. 

SHOPLIFTING - Officers responded to a shoplifting in progress on Harvard St, where the reported shoplifter had left the store riding on a Blue Bike. Officers spoke to the reporting party who shared that the suspect entered the store and exited with multiple items in their sweatshirt with out paying. Detectives are working on a follow-up with description of the suspect.

Thursday, April 8th, 2021

FRAUD - Officers responded to a fraud report where the victim reported that several unauthorized charges were made on their credit card. The victim was advised to call their bank and file a report with credit bureaus. 

Friday, April 9th, 2021

FRAUD - Officers responded to a fraud report where the reporting party relayed that loans had been filed under their name. They contacted police and the company that issued the loan. 

Saturday, April 10, 2021 

BIKE THEFT- Officers responded to a report for bike theft on Abbotsford Rd. The victim left their bike in their garage the previous day. When they went to their garage today, the bike was gone. The serial number was provided to officers.

FOUND PROPERTY - Officers responded to Beacon St. for a "found firearm magazine. The item was left at a restaurant and the owner explained that a patron saw the item on a seat in the lobby. The owner and staff did not touch the item and detectives are collecting finger prints to identify the owner. 

Monday, April 12, 2021

BIKE THEFT- Officers responded to a report of bike theft that happened on Lawton St. where the reporting party shared that they last saw their bike a couple days before when they left it unlocked in a communal room behind their house. This morning, the party received a text from a neighbor stating that they saw someone leaving the driveway while riding the victim's bike. The victim went to the communal room and the bike was missing. Officers have a description and Ring surveillance footage of the suspect. 

PACKAGE THEFT- Officers took a report of past package theft on St. Paul St. where the victim reported that there were three instances where their package had been missing or rummaged through. There are no surveillance cameras near the area. 

FRAUD - Officers responded to a fraud report where a reporting party received a call from someone claiming to be a Homeland Security agent. The "agent" asked the party for their pertinent information and told them to remove money from their bank account. The party realized that the call was most likely a scam and disconnected. 

FRAUD- Officers responded to a fraud report where the reporting party shared that they received a letter from the Department of Unemployment, sharing that their request for relief was accepted. Since they did not request relief, they contacted police. 

FRAUD - Officers responded to a fraud report where the reporting party shared that when looking for an apartment via an app, they had arranged a time to meet with an agent from the app about a potential place. The party already sent an agreed amount for the deposit to hold the apartment. When asked to send more money, the party became skeptical and contacted police. 

April 6, 2021

4/2/2021 BIKE THEFT - Officers responded to a report of bicycle theft on Marshal St, where the victim shared that they last saw their bike in a private storage unit in the basement of their building. When they went to check on their bikes on April 2nd, they were gone. Detectives have photos of the missing bikes and are following up on the case. 

4/2/2021 MALICIOUS DAMAGE - Officers responded to a malicious damage report on Beacon St. where the reporting party shared that a lamp from their garden had been uprooted, moved, and smashed near the property. The victim is requesting special attention to the area.

4/3/2021 LARCENY - Officers responded to a larceny report on Harvard St. where the reporting party shared that on March 21st, while working, a man came into the restaurant and stole money from the tip jar. The reporting party gave description of the man and shared that they had never seen the man and that he was not a previous customer.

4/4/2021 BREAK AND ENTER - Officers responded to a motor vehicle breaking and entering report from Beacon St. The reporting party shared that on April 2nd they parked their car and when returning to it, they saw that personal belongings had been missing from the vehicle. Detectives are currently searching for surveillance near the area of the crime. 

4/4/2021 BREAK AND ENTER - Officers responded to a past motor vehicle break and enter on Thatcher St. The reporting party shared that they parked their vehicle on the 3rd and when they returned to their car, belongings were rearranged. Officers did not see any surveillance cameras near the area.

4/4/2021 BIKE THEFT - Officers responded to a report for bicycle theft on Harvard St. The reporting party shared that they last saw their bike on March 9th, and when they returned to it today, the bike was missing. There are cameras in the garage where the bike was.

4/5/2021 MOTOR VEHICLE THEFT - Officers responded to Beacon St. for a report of a stolen motorcycle. The party shared that they parked their motorcycle and when they returned to it the next morning, it was gone. Detectives are currently following up on the case.

4/5/2021 SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY - Officers responded to a report about a suspicious person. The reporting party shared that they work on Beacon St. and on March 29th when they left their office, a man was following them to their vehicle. They quickly got into their car and the man stood in front of the vehicle. At this time, a co-worker observed what happened and their presence caused the man to run back into the building. The following day, the party shared what transpired  to their co-workers and they contacted the maintenance manager of the building to obtain some surveillance from the garage to share with police.

4/5/2021 FRAUD - Officers responded to a fraud report where the reporting party shared that they received a phone call from someone claiming to be a customer service representative with their bank. The caller shared that there was fraudulent activity in their account and in order to resolve it, they must share pertinent information with the caller. The party provided what was asked and thought the matter was resolved. When checking their bank account later, they saw that someone had accessed their account to transfer sums of money to an unknown party. The victim then contacted police.

April 2, 2021

3/31/2021 FRAUD - Officers responded to a report for credit card fraud where the reporting party received notifications that their card was being used for purchases in Dorchester. The card was used at multiple locations and the party contacted the manager at one of the locations to confirm that someone indeed was trying to make a purchase with their card. At this time, Detectives are following up on the case.

3/31/2021 SHOPLIFTING - Officers responded to a report for a past shoplifting on Harvard St. The loss prevention employee shared that they followed the shoplifter via bus into Boston. Officers were informed that Boston officers were able to recover the stolen items. The suspect was arrested due to outstanding warrants. 

3/31/2021 BREAK AND ENTER - Officers responded to a report for a break and enter of a motor vehicle on Marshall St. The reporting party shared that when they returned to their vehicle the saw that it had been rummaged through. They contacted police after.

4/1/2021 ALTERCATION - Officers responded to a dispute on Harvard St. where two parties had to be separated due to the altercation. It was shared that the owner of the establishment had scolded the other party for using the bathroom without making a purchase. This dispute escalated until officers arrived on scene to resolve the issue. 

4/1/2021 FRAUD - Officers responded to a report of a phone scam where the party shared that an authorized transfer was made in their account. The victim reported that they received a text message about a fraudulent charge and told them to contact the number provided. When they were on the phone with the caller, they were asked to transfer money in order to solve the issue. This caused the victim to become suspicious and contact their bank directly. This is when the bank informed them that they had been a victim of a scam. This is when police were contacted.

4/1/2021 LARCENY- Officers responded to a package theft report on Park St. were the reporting party shared that they received an email that their package was delivered. When they went go check the package, it was not there. Officers are looking for surveillance near the area.

March 30, 2021

3/30/2021 LARCENY - Officers responded to a larceny report at Emerson Park. The reporting party stated that her child's turquoise Micro Maxi scooter was taken from the playground. Officers requested this case to be followed up by detectives. 

3/30/2021 SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY - Officers responded to a call regarding suspicious activity. The reporting party stated that they had received multiple voice mails from someone who claimed they were from the Inspector General Office. The caller proceeded to inform the reporting party that they were from the Social Security Administration and claimed that the reporting party's car was found in New York. These claims were all false.

3/30/2021 GRAFFITI - Officers responded to a report of graffiti at Claflin road. The reporting party had reported an incident of graffiti prior and found more graffiti on 3/30/2021. The graffiti seems to be pink, blue and red wolves howling. The prior graffiti reported was a white wolf. 

March 29, 2021

3/25/2021 FRAUD - Officers responded to a identity theft report where the reporting party relayed that they received a phone call from a federal credit union asking why they are behind on payments on their loan. The party told them that they never applied for a loan from them. The caller then provided the address and phone number that was used for the account. Since the party did no recognize the information, they contacted police.

3/25/2021 FRAUD - Officers responded to a past Breaking and Entering of a motor vehicle on Clyde St. where the party relayed that they left their car with the doors unlocked and returned with their belongings missing. They later checked their credit cards to find fraudulent charges on the cards. They immediately canceled the cards. Detectives are currently following up on the case.

3/27/2021 SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY- Officers took a report of suspicious activity on Russell St. where a party caught a man walking through their backyard. The party gave police a description of the man.

March 25, 2021

3/22/2021 LARCENY- Officers responded to a larceny report at a restaurant on Harvard St. The reporting employee stated that an individual entered the establishment at 7:04PM and walked around the dining room, looking at tables and decorations. When the employee approached the individual to ask if they wanted to be served, the individual ignored the worker. They proceeded to the take out counter and took out the contents of the tip jar and place the money into their pocket. The individual then left the establishment. The manager contacted police officers.

3/22/2021 LARCENY - Officers responded to a larceny report on Gibbs St. where the owner reported that their motorized scooter had been stolen. What was left behind was a cut chain, cut bike lock, and a cover. These items have been collected as evidence and the case is being followed up by detectives.

3/23/2021 SHOPLIFTING - Officers responded to a shoplifting report on Harvard St around 11PM. The manager shared that there were two individuals who entered the store. One of them proceeded to put product into a trash bag while the other was talking to an employee as a distraction. They left the store without paying for merchandise. Detectives are currently following up on this case with description and video of the suspects.

3/23/2021 IDENTITY THEFT - Officers responded to a report of identity theft at 10:41AM where the reporting party shared that when clicking on a "pop-up" link by accident on their computer, it gave access to the company to remotely access to the computer. This company had someone call the party and proceeded to attempt to sell services that will "fix the problems" in the computer. When the reporting party stopped communicating with the scammer, they restarted the computer to find that there were many suspicious attempts of someone trying to access the computer. This caused them to contact police since there is pertinent personal information in the computer.

3/23/2021 BIKE THEFT- Officers responded to a report of a stolen bicycle on Browne St. The reporting party shared that they last seen their bike in the basement of their building. Since the door is usually locked, they leave the bike unchained. Today, they saw the basement door open and their bike gone. They contacted police in hopes of recovering their stolen bike.

3/23/2021 FRAUD - Officers responded to a report of identity theft at 7PM where the reporting party shared that they received a letter from the Department of Unemployment Assistance claiming that they received benefits. Since they did not file for unemployment, they contacted p0olice who advised them to contact the major credit bureaus.

3/24/2021 BIKE THEFT - Officers responded to a bike theft report on Browne St. at 8PM where the reporting party shared that they kept their bikes in a gated enclosure and locked the bikes. Today, they noticed that the enclosure was open and the bikes were missing. The gate of the enclosure was processed for fingerprints and detectives are attempting to recover the bikes.

March 22, 2021

3/19/2021 DAMAGE TO BUILDING - Officers responded to Egmont St. for a report of malicious damage. The reporting party returned home to discover their apartment door locks fill with hardened glue. Detectives are following up to see if there is footage in the area.

3/19/2021 FRAUD - Officers responded to a party that wanted to report unemployment fraud. The party was informed that someone filed an unemployment claim with their information. The party was advised to monitor their bank activity as well as contact major credit bureaus.

3/19/2021 FRAUD - Officers responded to a report of identity fraud where the victim shared that they received emails from an internet service provider that an account was opened under their name. They  received emails from the provider claiming that they changed their phone number and email on the account. Since the party did not open an account with the internet service provider and the phone number and emails where not theirs, they contacted police.

3/19/2021 FRAUD - Officers responded to a report of scam where a party claims that they received a call from Eversource threatening to cancel their services. The caller instructed that the victim must purchase gift cards and give the caller the numbers and access codes. Once the victim gave the caller the numbers, they realized that it was a scam and called police.

3/19/2021 FRAUD - Officers responded to a report of scam where the party was receiving emails claiming that their accounts have been hacked and they need to call the number in the email. Once they did, the caller instructed the party to purchase gift cards and provide them the access codes and numbers. Once they did so, the caller instructed them to buy more, this is when the victim realized that the situation was a scam. 

3/19/2021 FRAUD - Officers responded to a identity theft report where the reporting party received a package which they did not order and unauthorized charges were placed on their credit card. The party contacted police and is working to sort out the fraudulent activity.

3/19/2021 HARRASSMENT - Officers responded to Brighton Ave. for a harassments report where the reporting party stated that while on a jog, an individual approached them to ask for directions. When the party looked for directions on their phone, they looked back at the individual who then exposed themselves in front of the victim. Officers took a description of the person and advised the victim to contact police if they see the individual again.

3/19/2021 BREAK AND ENTER - Officers responded to a report of a past break and enter on Harvard St. where the reporting party heard someone knocking on their door. When they answered and no one was there, they reviewed surveillance footage and saw a subject on the 6th floor. When the party confronted the subject, they fled down the central stairway of the building and exited the building. More review of surveillance revealed the subject trying multiple doors in the building. Pry marks were also later found on an exterior door of the building. Detectives are currently following up with a description of the subject and surveillance footage.

3/20/2021 BIKE THEFT - Officers responded to Gibbs St. for a report of bike theft where the reporting party went to check their basement storage, and discovered two bikes along with a cable lock was missing. The victim reported that other residents of the building have access to the basement storage. Detectives are currently look for surveillance around the area.

3/20/2021 FRAUD - Officers responded to a report of fraud where the reporting party got a phone call that Eversource would be shutting off their services. The party called Eversource and the caller asked for their Social Security, name, and address. After speaking with this caller, the party called Eversource again, where they told the party that they did not recently have a phone call with them. This prompted the party to contact police.

3/20/2021 FRAUD - Officers responded to a fraud report where the reporting party sent money through Zelle to a person for the purpose of subletting their apartment. After not hearing anything back from the person, the reporting party contacted police. Police were able to get in contact with the person and they shared that they were not subletting any apartment in Brookline and that they have never been to Massachusetts. It appears that their personal information has been compromised.

3/21/2021 PACKAGE THEFT - Officers responded to a report of package theft on Garrison Rd. where the reporting party got a notification that their package was delivered and when they returned home, it wasn't there.

March 16, 2021

 3/16/21 BURGLAR - Officers responded to a past breaking and entering at a residential building on Russett Road. The reporting party stated that the modem was missing and upon reviewing surveillance footage, noticed a man entering the property towards the back of the house at 3:40 am. 

3/16/21 FRUAD - Officers responded to a report of multiple fraudulent charges on a credit card. The victim received emails from their bank inquiring about correct charges on the card and found that various false charges were made. The victim contacted the credit card company and the card as well as the charges were cancelled. The victim was urged to contact the Federal Trade Commission about the fraudulent activities and a follow up has been requested.

3/16/21 B & E - Officers responded to a breaking and entering on Warren St. The reporting party stated that they attempted to enter the first floor bathroom when it was locked and upon knocking on the door, the interior lights turned off. Assuming it was another resident inside the bathroom, the reporting party went to the other side of the house and found the other resident. Both residents saw that the exterior window of the bathroom was wide open. The residents then contacted the police where the K-9 unit searched the premise. The suspect was not found and it is unknown if anything was stolen. 

March 19, 2021

3/16/2021 BURGLARY - Officers responded to a report for breaking and entering on Russett Rd. The reporting party stated that their house which had been an active construction site was missing its modem from the basement. A camera in the area captured an individual walking to the property at 3:40AM. A copy of the footage is being prepared and examined by officers.

3/16/2021 FRAUD - Officers took a report regarding credit card fraud where the victim had a fraudulent charge on their account. Upon review of their bank statements, there were more fraudulent orders that they did not authorize. They contacted the vendor to cancel the charges and officers advised the victim to contact the Federal Trade Commission.

3/16/2021 FRAUD - Officers took a fraud report for an unemployment scam where the victim was attempting to file for benefits but discovered that their social security number was already used to make one.

3/16/2021 BURGLARY - Officers responded to a break and enter report on Warren St. where the reporting party was at their property that is in the process of being sold. Upon entering the house, they discovered the bathroom door locked and someone had turned off the lights. The reporting party then went outside noticed that the bathroom window was open and this was unusual since the window was never opened. This prompted them to call police and report a break and enter. When officers arrived, they determined the residence to be clear of the suspect and continued to sweep the area for the suspect. At this time, officers are obtaining video surveillance at the property.

3/17/2021 FRAUD - Officers responded to a fraud report from a manager at a company. The manager reported that withdrawals were made from the company account to one of the employees. Officers are attempting to contact that employee. 

3/17/2021 FRAUD - Officers responded to an unemployment fraud report where the victim reported that they received an email from their employer stating that an unemployment claim had been filed under their name. Since they did not file for unemployment, they contacted police.

3/17/2021 BICYCLE THEFT - Officers responded to a report for a bike theft on Harrison St. where the reporting party stated that they noticed their kid's bike missing from their garage. The party also informed officers that their Ring camera got footage of the suspect entering their garage. Detectives are currently following up on the case. 

___________________________________________________________________________________3/18/2021 THREATS - Officers took a report for threats by phone where the reporting party shared that someone was interested in buying their property. The reporting party stated that the property was not for sale and this prompted the caller to get upset and make threats. Police called the subject to inquire about the previous phone call and they were uncooperative and agitated. 

3/18/2021  BURGLARY - Officers responded to a break and enter on Egmont St. where the reporting party stated that they heard someone in their living room. They left their bedroom and saw the subject looking at the ceiling and mumbling. When officers arrived they observed nothing to be missing from the apartment and continued to canvass the building.

3/18/2021 THEFT - Officers responded to a stolen license plate report on Kent St. where the reporting party stated that they returned to their car and saw that their license plate was missing. They retraced their steps and did not locate the plate which led them to conclude that it had been stolen. Upon reviewing surveillance footage of when the car was parked, no one was seen tampering with the car.  

3/18/2021 ASSAULT - Officers responded to a report on Commonwealth Ave. for a suspect brandishing a firearm. Employees at the establishment reported that someone attempted to buy products and upon the transaction being declined, they left the store. When they returned, the employees informed the subject that the store was closed, and this prompted the suspect to reached for their firearm. The employees ran to the back of the store and notified police. When police got to the scene they observed the suspect at the back of the establishment. Upon conducting a pat and frisk of the subject, they secured the firearm and determined that it was a BB gun. The subject was arrested.

 

March 15, 2021

3/11/2021 FRAUD - Officers responded to a report for check fraud where the reporting party relayed that they had been trying to sell exercise equipment online. Someone one agreed to buy it and sent the seller a check. After depositing the check, days later the reporting party's bank advised them that the check was fraudulent.

 

3/11/2021 BURGLARY - Officers responded to a past breaking and entering at a commercial establishment on Station St. The reporting party stated that they locked up the place two nights prior when they left. When they arrived in the morning, the fire alarm was going off and they immediately noticed product had been rummaged through. Several items were also missing but they were later recovered in a suitcase outside the establishment. Detectives arrived on scene to collect evidence and search for fingerprints.

3/11/2021 LARCENY - Officers responded to a larceny report where the person reporting stated that they received a text message from their bank asking to verify a purchase. After texting back that they did not recently make a purchase, a representative from the bank called them. After discussing fixing the fraudulent activity, the reporting party hung up and checked their bank account to observe that money was gone from their accounts. The reporting party called the bank again to discover that the first call was a scam. 

3/11/2021 LARCENY - Officers responded to a package theft report on Winchester St. where the reporting party claimed that they received a package delivery and moved it to the locked lobby of the building to grab it later. When they returned home, the package was missing. Upon contacting the property manager and seeing surveillance footage, a description of the suspect is available and officers are currently trying to obtain the video footage.

3/12/2021 BURGLARY - Officers responded to a residential breaking and entering on Euston St. where the resident reported that they saw a subject in their apartment and when they made eye contact, the subject exited the apartment and out to the common hallway. The resident's roommate was doing laundry and left the rear door open and this would have most likely been the entryway for the subject. The two residents confronted the subject near the rear door of the apartment and the subject relayed that they were looking for a friend in the building. When officers arrived, the subject had already left the building. An officer near the area reported seeing a person matching the description of the subject. The officer identified the subject and later was able to confirm that this was the same person that was in the apartment. An arrest was made. 

3/12/2021 MALICIOUS DAMAGE  - Officers responded to a malicious damage to a vehicle report on High St. where the reporting party stated that someone smashed their car windshield. The reporting party shared that they had a disagreement with a friend and that resulted in the friend hitting the corner of the person's car windshield.

3/13/2021 BURGLARY - Officers responded to a past break and enter on South St. where the reporting party stated that when they went to check on their parents home due to them being on vacation, they found the front door unlocked. Upon further inspection of the home, the bedrooms had been ransacked and a safe was missing. When officers arrived, they observed that the point of entry must have been the bathroom window on the second floor. There was visible pry marks and the screen was open. Furthermore, there were mud tracks on the bathroom floor and a patio chair in the backyard directly underneath the bathroom window. Detectives arrived on scene to take photographs and collect evidence. 

3/13/2021 ANIMAL BITE - Officers responded to a report for a past dog bite on Franklin St. The reporting party stated that while running through Robinson Playground a dog ran behind them and bit them in the leg. The party and the dog owner exchanged information and contacted police. 

3/13/2021 MALICIOUS DAMAGE - Officers responded to a report of malicious damage to a building on Carlton St. The reporting party who is the maintenance worker stated that they left the building the day prior and the next morning the property manager stated that the window to a door was smashed in. Officers arrived to observe that the glass was inside the building and there was a substantial amount of it. Detectives are currently following up on the case.

The victim's ring camera detected the motion of the activity so a description of the suspect has been given to officers.

3/14/2021 FRAUD - Officers responded to a report for fraudulent use of a credit card. The victim received a text from their bank stating that there might be a fraudulent charge on their card. The victim attempted to find their card but realized that they lost their wallet. They are retracing their steps and trying to cancel the charges with their bank.

3/14/2021 B & E ATTEMPT - Officers responded to an attempted breaking and entering of a motor vehicle on Beacon St. where the victim reported seeing pry marks on the driver's door. Officers canvassed the area to see if other suspicious activity was present.

March 11, 2021

3/8/2021 BAT EXPOSURE - Officers responded to an animal exposure report where the reporting party stated seeing a bat fly around in their kitchen. The reporting party stayed away from the bat and explained that the bat must have flown through a hole in the ceiling of their apartment.  There was no bat exposure to any of the occupants in the apartment.

3/8/2021 THEFT ATTEMPT - Officers responded to a report for suspicious activity on Fuller St. where a reporting party stated seeing a suspect near a moped and acting suspicious. When the suspect left, the reporting party went to the moped and saw burglarious instruments there, including a screw driver jammed into the ignition. Officers arrived and observed the weather cover torn off the moped as well as the burglarious tools. The reporting party gave a description of the suspect and officers collected the tools as evidence.

3/8/2021 PACKAGE THEFT - Officers responded to a package theft report on Borland Rd. The reporting party returned home to discover the package on their porch to be opened and the contents missing. Officers are searching for surveillance near the area.

3/8/2021 BIKE THEFT - Officers responded to a bicycle theft report on Browne St. where the victim reported that they left their bike in the vestibule area of their building where only residents have access . They returned to discover their bike missing and the door to the room had been dislodged. Detectives are currently following up on the case.

___________________________________________________________________________________ 3/9/2021 ATTEMPTED BREAK AND ENTER - Officers responded to an attempt of a break and enter on Park St. where the reporting party shared that the lock on a rear door seemed broken and officers observed that it seemed like it had been pushed out from the door. The inside of the building and patrons were ok and nothing was missing. Detectives are searching for surveillance near the area at the moment. 

3/9/2021 PACKAGE THEFT - Officers responded to a package theft report on Welland Rd. where the reporting party received a delivery confirmation but when they returned home the package was not there.

3/9/2021 SHOPLIFTING - Officers responded to a shoplifting report on Harvard St. where the manager reported that the suspect was in the bathroom of the store and believes that they had shoplifted. The suspect has shoplifted from this establishment before so the manager recognized them. The suspect was seen taking a grey backpack and stuffing the backpack with other items from the store. The suspect left and a description was given to officers, who later stopped the suspect and returned the items. 

3/9/2021 LARCENY  -  Officers responded to a larceny report where the victim reported that their mail was stolen from the building on Marshal St.

3/9/2021 FRAUD - Officers responded to an unemployment fraud claim where the reporting party was notified by their employer that they received an unemployment claim. Since the party did not file for the benefits, they contacted the DUA Office and police.

3/10/2021 DOMESTIC DISPUTE - Officers received a report for a domestic dispute on Eliot Ave, where the reporting party stated that their roommates were in a fight. Officers located the two disputing roommates outside the apartment and the two reported that the argument did not become physical and that they had resolved their dispute. All parties were satisfied with the outcome.

3/10/2021 CAR BREAK AND ENTER - Officers responded to a motor vehicle break and enter on Beacon St. where the reporting party stated that they parked their vehicle in the morning and when they arrived after work, the car window was smashed. A backpack that the victim had in the car was missing. Detectives took photographs of the scene and checked for fingerprints. 

3/10/2021 FRAUD - Officers responded to an unemployment fraud report where the victim received a letter from the state of Kentucky stating that she filed for unemployment benefits. Since they never applied for unemployment benefits, they notified police.

3/10/2021 CAR BREAK AND ENTER - Officers responded to a motor vehicle break and enter on Eliot St. where the reporting party stated that their home surveillance system captured a suspect enter their driveway and entered their car. They rummaged through the vehicle and left shortly after. The victim checked the interior of their car after and nothing was missing. A description of the suspect was taken from the surveillance video.

March 8, 2021

 3/4/2021 FRAUD - Officers took a report of fraud where the victim received a call from someone impersonating a police officer. The "police officer" was warning that the victim's social security number was being used to make purchases.  The "police officer" then told the victim to go to CVS to purchase gift cards in order to correct the fraudulent use of their social security number. After obtaining the access code to that gift card, the scammer than told the victim to purchase more gift cards in even greater amounts. This is when the victim notified the police.

3/5/2021 FRAUD - Officers responded to a fraud report where the victim received an unemployment claim form in the mail. Since they did not request unemployment benefits, they contacted police. 

3/5/2021 BICYCLE THEFT - Officers responded to a report for a bicycle theft on Browne St. where the reporting party stated that they locked up their bike in a secure spot in their residential building. Upon returning, their bike was missing and the door to the storage seemed to be tampered with.

The victim notified Kentucky DUA as well as police.

3/6/2021 FRAUD - Officers responded to a credit card fraud report where the victim's card was used on separate occasions for transactions in Florida. They were notified when their bank contacted them about their request for a new card. Since they did not make this request, they checked their bank account and discovered these fraudulent transactions.

3/7/2021  BREAK AND ENTER ATTEMPT - Officers responded to an attempt breaking and entering of a vehicle on Clinton Rd. The reporting party stated that they observed someone attempting to break into their car through their Ring camera. No entry was made and the officers have a description of the suspect.

3/7/2021 LARCENY - Officers responded to a shoplifting on Harvard St. where the manager reported that a customer was seen placing items into a bag. When the manager confronted the suspect, they exited the store with the items. Officers have a description of the suspect as well as information about the products that were stolen. 

3/7/2021 FRAUD - Officers responded to a fraud report where the the reporting party received a text saying there was a problem with their unemployment claim. They did not click on the link provided and contacted police since they did not file for unemployment benefits. 

3/7/2021 BREAK AND ENTER  - Officers responded to a break and enter of a motor vehicle on Middlesex Rd. The vehicle was parked in the victim's driveway and upon going to their vehicle, they discovered their belongings had been rummaged through. Officers are currently investigating the case.

3/7/2021 LARCENY - Officers responded to a report of a package theft on Park St. where officers arrived with the package in the lobby appearing to be cut open. Reporting parties stated that they had surveillance of the package being stolen. The video entails two suspects entering the building, cutting open the box, and taking the contents from it. Descriptions of the suspect is obtained and the box was submitted to evidence. 

March 4, 2021

 3/2/2021 DAMAGE TO TOWN PROPERTY - Officers responded to a tree falling down on Fuller St. due to the windy weather from the previous night. The tree was very large and its fall resulted in multiple items being damage around houses on Fuller St. Damages include a broken window, a ramp, a roof, a satellite dish and more. No one was injured. 

3/2/2021 GRAFFITI - Officers responded to a graffiti report at a commercial establishment on Beacon St. where the window near the front entrance was defaced with black lettering and racist remarks written. Officers are currently viewing surveillance around the area.

3/2/2021 SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY - Officers responded to a call for suspicious activity on Buckminster Rd. where the reporting party stated that at around 4:40AM their alarm system alerted them that motion was detected. Upon reviewing that camera, the party observed someone in their driveway trying to open the car doors. The suspect did not gain entry into any cars. Officers are reviewing that camera footage from the alarm system.

3/2/2021 FRAUD - Officers responded to a report of fraud on Claflin Rd. where the reporting party stated that someone used an account of theirs to order product from Florida. The victim was notified from their credit card company and was able to decline the unauthorized charge. Authorities were contacted in Florida as well and the fraudulent activity will be mitigated.

3/2/2021 FRAUD - Officers responded to a fraud report on Freeman St. where the reporting party has been in contact with a subject regarding a room rental. The two came to an agreement of how much the rent would be. The subject sent the reporting party a check with an amount greater than the agreed upon rent amount. This prompted the reporting party to send back the excess amount via Zelle. The reporting party later received an alert from their bank that the check they deposited was fraudulent. The reporting party then contacted police. Upon investigating it appears that phone numbers and emails that the subject used were generated and false. Detectives are following up on the case now.

February 16, 2021

2/10/2021 FRAUD - Officers responded to a fraud report where the victim stated that they received a letter from the office of unemployment from another state. Since the victim did not claim unemployment benefits and never worked in another state, they contacted police.

Detectives are currently in the process of obtaining surveillance footage.

2/11/2021 SHOPLIFT - Officers responded to a shoplifting report on Harvard St. The suspect was stopped later by officers. Items were recovered and the perpetrator was arrested.  

2/11/2021 BIKE THEFT - Officers responded to a report for bike theft on Walnut St. where the reporting party stated that two bikes were missing from the storage area of the building. Detectives are currently investigating.  

2/11/2021 DISTURBANCE - Officers responded to a disturbance at a food establishment on Harvard St. where the patron refused to pay for their meal. The manager's attempt to resolve the issue was in vain. Officers arrived to deescalate the issue and the perpetrator will be summoned to court. 

2/11/2021 SHOPLIFT - Officers responded to a report of shoplifting on Harvard St. where the store manager stated that multiple parties entered the store and left with several items. Detectives are currently investigating surveillance footage.

There's a possibility that the apartment door was kept ajar that night but the reporting party was sure that it was locked. 2/26/2021 BREAK AND ENTER - Officers responded to a report of a break and enter of a motor vehicle. The reporting party stated that they returned to their vehicle in the morning with their things rummaged around and coins missing. 

2/26/2021 FRAUD - Officers responded to a fraud report where the victim reported unauthorized usage of their bank accounts. The victim reported to their bank to dispute the charges in hopes that they are still pending. They were also advised to notify a credit bureau and the Federal Trade Commission/

2/18/2021 FRAUD - Detectives responded to a fraud report where the victim received a call from someone that was impersonating a family member, claiming that they had been arrested and needed bail money. The victim complied to send money in order to help their family member. Detectives are currently investigating the case. 

 

2/18/2021 FRAUD - Officers received a report of fraud where the reporting party stated that they received a letter in the mail stating that they filed for unemployment benefits. Since the party did not file for unemployment, they contacted police. 

2/18/2021 BURGLARY - Officers responded to a report of a past burglary of a residence on Euston St., where the victim relayed that upon returning home they found their bedroom door off the hinges and some belongings were taken. The other bedrooms in the residence had their doors removed as well but no belongings missing. Police officers are currently investigating the case.

2/18/2021 THEFT - Officers responded to a past theft report where the victim stated that their stuff was taken from their locked gym locker. The perpetrator impersonated the victim in order to get a staff member to open the locker for them. Detectives are currently searching for surveillance. 

2/18/2021 PACKAGE THEFT - Officers responded to a package theft report on Beacon St. where the victim reported that shortly after their package was delivered, they discovered the boxes opened and the contents were missing. Detectives are currently examining the opened package for evidence.

2/20/2021 SHOPLIFTING - Detectives responded to a shoplifting report on Boylston St. where the manager stated that they recognized the suspect due to past shopliftings. This caused them to monitor the suspect. Once they saw that the suspect was concealing products, they confronted the suspect about stealing. This caused the suspect to become irritable and make threats. They then proceeded to leave the store and exit the scene via MBTA. Detectives have received surveillance and are investigating the case now.

2/21/2021 SHOPLIFTING - Officers responded to a shoplifting report on Harvard St. where the subject was observed putting product in a shopping bag. When officers arrived and confronted the subject, they became upset. The subject attempted to leave the store but officers continued to question them.  Officers were able to stop and identify the subject. They were able to resolve the issue and prevent a crime.

2/21/2021 ASSAULT - Officers responded to a dispute on Commonwealth Ave. that was caused by an objection to a vehicle being towed. The argument among the parties became physical. As officers arrived on scene, they separated and questioned the parties present. Upon further investigating of video and dashboard camera footage, officers made an arrest.

2/22/2021 FRAUD - Officers responded to a report of fraud on Boylston St. where a subject was attempting to make an exchange with counterfeit bills. The merchant was extra keen at this time since a previous incident with counterfeit bills had occurred the previous week. The merchant used a counterfeit detector pen to reveal that the bills were fake. This prompted the manager to contact police. Officers stopped a suspect walking away from the establishment and questioned them. An investigation and interview is in progress.

2/22/2021 SHOPLIFTING - Officers responded to a shoplifting report on Harvard St. where the manager witnessed the party placing product in their sweatshirt and exit the store. With description of the suspect, officers identified and stopped the suspect near the store. Upon confirming with the manager the identity of the suspect, officers made an arrest.

2/22/2021 FRAUD - Officers responded to a fraud report where the reporting party stated that they received an unemployment claim under their name. Since they did not file for unemployment, the contacted police. 

2/22/2021 SHOPLIFTING - Officers responded to a shoplifting report on Harvard St. where the suspect concealed an item and payed for another item. Upon confrontation from a store employee, the suspect stated that they put the concealed item back. The suspect left the store and officers canvassed the area.

2/22/2021 PACKAGE THEFT - Officers responded to a package theft report on Beacon St. where the victim reported that packages were taken from their foyer. Officers are currently investigating with video footage provided.

2/22/2021 FRAUD - Officers responded to a fraud report where the reporting party stated that a subject that they had been talking on social media for over a year with, claimed that they needed money to buy a new phone. The reporting party bought eBay gift cards and gave the subject the codes in order for them to buy a new phone. The fraudulent activity continued and the victim reported to police once they suspected that they were getting scammed.

2/22/2021 SHOPLIFTING - Officers responded to a shoplifting report on Beacon St. where the employee stated that they observed the subject taking bottles of liquor and leaving the store. Officers are currently investigating with a description of the suspect.

February 18, 2021

 2/17/2021 MOTOR VEHICLE B&E - Officers took a report for a motor vehicle break and enter on Fuller St. The victim returned to their vehicle with their items rummaged through. Detectives are currently searching for surveillance of the area.

2/17/2021 IDENTITY THEFT - Officers took a report of potential identity fraud where the reporting party stated that someone called them claiming to be from Amazon. The caller warned that the victim's account was compromised and that they needed to provide their personal information. Upon doing so, a transaction was attempted to be made on the victim's card. This prompted them to contact police to report fraud.

2/17/2021 SIMPLE ASSAULT - Officers took a report of simple assault where the victim reported that while waiting at a bus stop on Commonwealth Ave., a subject approached them and along with some remarks, spat on the victim's face. Detectives are currently searching for surveillance around the area. 

2/17/2021 ASSAULT AND BATTERY - Officers responded to a report for assault on Webster St. The victim reported that they approached the subject in a restricted area for employees. The interrogation lead the subject to shove the employee and then they proceeded to leave the building. Officers are currently examining camera footage in the building.
