On Wednesday October 28th officers at the police station spoke with a victim who came in to report a larceny of a bicycle. Victim reported the bike was taken from his porch. Victim reported locking the bike then returning to find the bike missing. This matter is still under investigation.

10/26/2015-10/27/2015

On October 26th officers were on patrol when they received a report of graffiti on Cypress Street. Upon arrival officers spoke with the victim who reported that not noticing any graffiti on the wall in the morning then returning later that night to see someone vandalized the apartment building. This matter is still under investigation.

On October 26th officers were on patrol on Harvard Street when they observed a vehicle drive by. Officers entered the plate number into the patrol car computer and the results came back that the registered owner of the vehicle had a suspended license. Officers pulled the vehicle over and once it was determined that the driver was the registered owner the driver was placed under arrest without incident.

On October 27th officers responded to a report of a burglary on South Street. The victim wanted to report of a person broke into the house sometime a week ago and stole valuable’s from the home. This matter is still under investigation.

On October 27th officers responded to burglary report on Webster Street. The victim reported returning to her hotel room and finding multiple valuables missing. This matter is still under investigation

10/23/2015-10/25/2015

On October 23^rd, an officer was dispatched to local business on Commonwealth Ave. for a past Breaking and Entering.  On scene, the store manager reported arriving to work at 0750hrs found the front door to the business to be broken and forced open. The manger reported missing a large sum of money taken from under the reception desk in the front lobby.  This matter is still under investigation.

On October 23^rd, an officer was dispatched to a residence on Coolidge St. for a past report of a stolen bicycle. On scene, the victim stated his bike was locked to a street sign in front of his apartment the night of 10/22/2015. The next morning, he noticed the bicycle, helmet, and u-lock were also missing.

On October 24^th, an officer responded to a report of a larceny of a residence on Sherman Rd. On scene, the victim reported, between the hours of 0800hrs and 1600hrs, someone had entered his apartment and took several pieces of jewelry, two electronic tablets, and a cellphone. Victim stated the noticed front door was unlocked. No signs of forced entry present.

On October 25^th, an officer was dispatched to a residence on Stetson St. for a past Breaking and Entering of a Motor Vehicle.  Victim reported at approximately at 0030 hours, he had retrieved a couple bags from his trunk of his car and entered his residence. The following morning, the victim noticed the “truck open” indicator on his dashboard was activated.  The victim opened the trunk, which revealed his backpack containing his laptop was missing. 

10/25/2015

 October 24, 2015, 1918 hrs.                   Armed Robbery                       

Brookline Police units responded to Cypress St on a report of an armed robbery. Victim reports while working a white male, large build approximately 6’00 tall over 200 lbs, wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, black sweat pants, and a black mask brandishing a large kitchen knife demanded the victim open the cash register.  After opening the register the suspect picked up and removed the drawer containing the currency and then fled out onto Cypress St toward Chestnut St.. Officers were unable to locate the suspect.  Investigation is ongoing.

10/22/2015

On October 22^nd, officers were dispatched to the area of Babcock Street for shoplifting shoes at a local department store on Harvard Ave.  On scene, a store employee stated he had helped three female individuals find shoes and had gone out back to find a different size.  On his arrival to the sales floor,  he saw the three subjects flee the store down Harvard St. and onto Babcock St.  The employee was able to give the officers on scene a description of the subjects and shoes the subjects had stolen. This information was broadcasted over the radio. While canvassing the area, an officer was able to located the three individuals matching the description hiding behind a vehicle in the rear parking lot of John St. A search of their bags revealed the stolen shoes. The subjects were placed under arrest and transported to the Brookline Police Station.

On October 22^nd, an officer while on patrol on Boylston Street noticed a vehicle with an expired registration sticker.  The officer activated his overhead emergency lights and initiated a traffic stop.  The officer advised the driver as to the reason for the stop and asked for his license and registration. The officer radioed Brookline Dispatch to request a status check of the driver’s license and registration.  Brookline Dispatch confirmed the driver’s license suspended and registration revoked.  The subject was placed under arrest. 

10/20/2015-10/21/2015

On October 20th officers were on Harvard Street when officers observed a vehicle traveling in front of them.  After conducting a random query of the vehicle the officers determined that the vehicle had a failed inspection sticker. Upon pulling over the vehicle it was determined the driver did not possess a driver’s license. Dispatched later confirmed the driver had a suspended license. The driver was placed under arrest for operating after suspension.

On October 20th officers were monitoring traffic on Harvard Street when a vehicle was traveling with an old inspection sticker and also a broken right brake light. After obtaining the drivers information it was determined the driver had a straight warrant out for his arrest. Officers placed him under arrest without incident. Officers searched the vehicle and found various illegal narcotics.

On October 20th officers were on Harvard Street when officers observed a vehicle make an illegal left turn at an intersection. Officers pulled the vehicle over and after obtaining the drivers information and confirming it with dispatch the driver’s license have had been revoked. The driver was placed under arrest without incident.

10/19/15-10/20/15

On 10/20/15, Officers observed a vehicle traveling Northbound on Harvard St. with a failed inspection sticker. A License check revealed that the operator had a suspended license.  The subject was placed under arrest for driving with a suspended license, and was also issued a citation, 94C/32L Possession less than one ounce of marijuana.

On 10/19/15, a citizen arrived at the Police Station to report his wallet stolen. The victim believes it was stolen from an establishment on Commonwealth Ave. The victim had cancelled his credit and debit card upon learning the wallet had been stolen. He was advised to notify the Federal Trade Commission and major credit reporting bureaus of this incident.

On October 14, 2015, a business owner from Commonwealth Ave reported that graffiti that had been spray painted on his building. The graffiti tag is both white and black bubble letters with words that are indecipherable. Photos and video surveillance were taken and a follow-up investigation will be conducted.

10/16/2015-10/18/2015

On October 16^th, an officer while conducting traffic enforcement at Lee St. and Clyde St, observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed, well over the legally posted speed limit.  The officer activated his emergency overhead lights, and safely initiated a traffic stop.  The officer asked for the operator’s license and registration, to which the driver only provided his registration and stated he did not process a valid Massachusetts license.  A query of the operator’s information, confirmed he did not have a valid driver’s license and the individual was placed under arrest.

On October 16^th, an officer while on patrol observed a vehicle traveling on Washington St; fail to yield to pedestrians walking on a marked crosswalk.   The officer he officer activated his emergency overhead lights, and safely initiated a traffic stop.  The officer asked for the operator’s license and registration.  The officer returned to his cruiser to run a query on the driver’s information, which revealed the individual did not possess a valid driver’s license.  The subject was placed under arrest and transported to the Brookline Police Station for booking.

On October 17^th, an officer assigned to the front desk was approached by a Brookline resident who came in to the station to report a larceny.  The victim reported his son’s clarinet missing from a storage area in school he attended. The victim reported he cannot think of anyone who would want to steal the clarinet. This matter is still under investigation.

On October 18^th, officers were dispatch to a local business on Washington St. for a report of a shoplifting in progress.  Brookline Dispatch updated responding units that the male subject is described as a white male in his 40's, wearing a black coat, black pants, with dark hair, slicked back, and he was carrying a plastic bag.  Units were advised that the store's manager reported that the male left the store, stood outside for a short time, then fled through the store’s parking lot in the direction of Stanton Road.  An officer observed a male party that fit the description and attempting to jump a fence in the store’s parking lot.  The suspect was stopped on the corner of Stanton Rd. and Lincoln Rd. carrying a plastic bag containing several stolen items from the store.  The suspect was placed under arrest and transported to the Brookline Police Station. 

10/13/2015-10/15/2015

On October 13^th, an officer assigned to the front desk, was approached by a Brookline Resident to report the Breaking and Entering and Larceny of his motor vehicle.  The victim reported having his vehicle unlocked, and parked in the driveway of his home on Salisbury Rd. The next morning, the victim noticed the vehicles driver’s side door was open ajar and noticed a small sum of loose change and MP3 player missing from his vehicle. No signs of damage or forced entry into the car.  

On October 14^th, an officer was dispatched to a residence on Russell Street for a report of a past larceny of a bicycle. On scene, the victim reported parking his bicycle in his garage in the rear of his property.  The following day the victim noticed his bicycle missing. Nothing else is reported missing at this time.

On October 15^th, and officer assigned to the front desk was approached by a Brookline Resident, who wanted to report the theft of his cellphone.  The victim reported being in the Coolidge Corner area the night before and had his cellphone attached to his belt.  The victim strongly feels he did not misplace, or drop the phone, and believes the phone was taken from his belt.

On October 15^th, an officer on patrol on the intersection of Mountfort Street and Carlton Street, and conducted a random query of a vehicle’s registration, stopped at a red light.  The query revealed the vehicles registration was expired.  The officer initiated a traffic stop and asked for the operator’s license and registration, which were both expired.  The officer asked the driver to step out of the vehicle, and the officer observed the driver was attempting to grab two plastic bags in the back seat.  After the subject was detained, the officer investigated the bags, which revealed a small quantity of package drugs, along with other drug paraphernalia associated with distribution.  Subject was placed under arrest and transported to Brookline Police Station. 

Officers make an arrest of a subject for breaking into a home. 10-14-15

Last night at 8:47 PM Dispatch received a call from residents of Freeman street. The residents reported as they were watching TV in the front of their home they heard a loud bang coming from the back. As they looked toward the source of the noise they saw a male jump out the back window. Responding officers stopped a subject in the area of Commonwealth Ave. The subject had in his possession items reported stolen from the home. The subject has been charged with unarmed robbery and larceny over two hundred and fifty dollars.

10/9/2015-10/11/2015

On October 9^th, an officer was dispatched to a restaurant on Harvard St. for a report of a larceny.  On scene, the employee reported two individual stealing the restaurants tip jar and gave a description of the two subjects.  The officer on scene broadcasted the description of the subjects over the radio. After hearing the broadcast another officer realized she had just seen the individuals board an inbound MBTA train on the intersection of Commonwealth Avenue and Harvard Street. The officer caught up to the trolley and signaled for the operator to stop.  The officer boarded the trolley, and located the two individuals and, had them exit the trolley. The officers read them their Miranda rights and were asked several questions on where they were prior to boarding the trolley.  The answers to the questions gave the officer probable cause to search the duffel bag one of the individuals was holding. The search revealed the stolen tip jar and both subjects were placed under arrest.

On October 9^th, officers were dispatched to a grocery store on Harvard St. for a report a shoplifting in progress.  Brookline Dispatch broadcasted a description of the shoplifters over the radio.  On scene, the store manager reported observing both subjects place items into their shopping cart and when they arrived to the checkout line several of the items were missing.  Officers asked both parties to step aside and answer a few questions after being read their Miranda rights. A search of the subjects tote bags reveal several of the stores items that were not paid for.  The subjects were placed under arrest and transported to the Brookline Police Station.

On October 10^th, an officer was dispatched to a local business on Beacon St. for a past report of shoplifting. On scene, the employee reported witnessing a female individual enter the store and leave rather quickly. Upon viewing the video surveillance, the employee realized the subject had stolen a purse near the entrance of the store. This matter is still under investigation.

On October 11^th, an officer was dispatched to Gibbs St. for a past report of a Breaking and Entering. On scene, the victim reported leaving his apartment the night of October 10^th. On his arrival home the next day, he noticed his living room window and screen open. The victim reported missing his laptop and backpack. This matter is still under investigation.

On October 11^th, an officer was dispatched to a local business on Beacon St. for a report of a larceny of a wallet. On scene, the victim reported going to pay for her groceries and could not find her wallet.  The victim traced her steps in the store and searched her car and returned home but did not locate her wallet. The victim stated someone must have taken her wallet from her purse while she was reaching for an item. 

10/07/2015-10/08/2015

On October 8th, officers responded to Valley Road for a possibly Breaking and Entering. Victim reported the suspect first knocked on the front the door then preceded to the back where the suspect began knocking repeatedly. Victim stated the suspect did not gain entrance and eventually left the property. This matter is still under investigation

On October 8th, officers responded to Beacon Street for a report of a larceny in a building. The victim reported hiring construction workers and they had tools missing. This matter is still under investigation.

On October 7th, officers responded to Rangeley Road for a larceny in a home. Victim stated items missing from their home. This matter is still under investigation.

On October 7th officers were on patrol in Coolidge Corner. Officers pulled over a vehicle for an expired registration.  Officers asked the driver of the vehicle for their license and registration. After running his information, dispatch confirmed that the driver had a suspended license. The driver was placed under arrest without incident.

On October 7th officers responded to Dean Road for a report of a Breaking and Entering of a residence under construction. Victim reported coming to the house to see a light in the house on. The victim went through the house and did not find anything missing. This matter is still under investigation.

10/5/2015-10/6/2015

On October 6^th, 2015 a victim came to the police station to report a larceny of her bike at her home. The victim reported leaving locked outside the night before and returning to the bike the next morning to find it missing. This matter is still under investigation.

On October 6^th officers responded to Marion Street for a report of a larceny from a vehicle. Victim reported parking his vehicle and returning to it noticed the vehicle was on milk crates and all four tires were missing. This matter is still under investigation.

On October 6^th officers were dispatched to Garrison Road for a report of a larceny from a building. Victim reported that a large number of gift cards were stolen from the building. This matter is still under investigation.

On October 6^th officers were on patrol on Harvard Street when officers noticed a vehicle and did a random query of the vehicle and it came back that there may be a possible warrant for the owner of the vehicle. Officers pulled over the vehicle and after the driver provided his license and registration it was determined he was the registered owner of the vehicle. Officers asked dispatch to run the drivers history and it came back the driver had a warrant out. The driver was placed under arrest without incident.

On October 6^th officers were dispatched to Franklin Street for a report of a residential Breaking and Entering. The victim reported a number of items missing from his apartment. This matter is still under investigation.

On October 5^th officers took a report at the station of a larceny. Victim reported she was on Saint Paul Street for a concert. Victim stated leaving her purse in the back of the building then returning to find it missing. Matter is still under investigation.

On October 5^th officers responded to Commonwealth Avenue for a report of graffiti damage. Officers took notes of the damage and this matter is still under investigation.

9/30/2015-10/04/2015

On September 30^th, officers were dispatched to Pine Manor College for a report of a past breaking and entering.  On scene, the victim showed officers a video, which was taken from his computers webcam.  The video showed an individual entering the room through a closed door, and rummaging through the victims items.  The subject is shown taken what appears to US currency from the victim’s bed.  A short time later, an Assistant Dean at the college viewed the video and immediately identified the student.  The suspect was placed under arrest, and transported to the Brookline Police Department.

On September 30^th, an officer was dispatched to Verndale St. for a report of a past breaking and entering.  On scene, the victim reported missing his laptop, which was left in his apartment’s living room. The victim reported last seeing it approximately at 2130hrs on September 29^th and notice it missing the following morning. No other items have been reported missing at this time.

On October 2^nd, an officer was dispatch to a residence on Longwood Ave. for a report of a past Breaking and Entering and Larceny of a motor vehicle.  On scene, the victim reported leaving for work at approximately 1440hrs. Upon arrival to work, he realized two bags containing computers, a phone, clothes, and miscellaneous papers were missing from the trunk. The victim returned home to search his residence for the missing bags but to no avail.

On October 3^rd, an officer traveling westbound on Boylston St. was stopped in traffic at a red light.  The officer observed a vehicle speed out ahead two travel lanes cutting off several vehicles.  The officer activated his emergency lights, and stopped the vehicle for the marked lane violation, coming to a stop just past Brington Rd., on Boylston.  The officer asked for the operator’s license and registration and produced the vehicles registration.  The individual stated he did not have a valid driver’s license.  The officer checked with Brookline Police Dispatch, which confirmed the operator’s license was revoked. The subject was placed under arrest and transported to the Brookline Police Department.

On October 3^rd, an officer responded to a past report of a shoplifting at a local business on Beacon St. A description of the suspect was broadcasted over the radio and was reportedly traveling on northbound on Harvard St. Units searched the area but to no avail.  On scene, the employee reported helping a customer at the cash register. The employee then reported witnessing the subject grab a pair of headphones a leave the store.  The stores surveillance did not show the area where the head phones were displayed.  This matter is still under investigation.

On October 3^rd, an officer was dispatched to Ivy St. for report of a larceny of a package. On scene, the victim stated he had the package delivered on October 1^st.  On his arrival home, he noticed the package was missing and the outer door was unlocked.  

On October 4^th, an officer was dispatched to a call for a Breaking and Entering of a motor vehicle on Fairmount Rd.  On scene, the victim reported noticing through their window their car light and what appeared to be someone on in the vehicle.  The victim proceeded to his porch and yelled at the individual.  The subject immediately fled the scene towards  Dudley Road. The victim reported nothing taken form the vehicle.

On October 4^th, an officer assigned to the front desk was approached by an individual who wanted to report his electronic tablet stolen. The victim reported staying at a local hotel on Beacon St. The victim stated he had left his room at approximately 1530hrs and returned at 2130hrs to find his tablet missing.  This matter is still under investigation. 

Assault with a knife, under investigation

Saturday morning at 2:07 AM Officers responded to a reported Disturbance in the Coolidge Corner area on Center Street. Responding officers stopped a vehicle leaving the scene. Too occupants of the vehicle were taken to the Hospital for non-life threatening injuries caused by a knife. They sustained the injuries while in an altercation with another person.  Parties involved had been on a party bus that had left the area.  Officers are following up on this case

Active Robbery Investigation September 28th

On Monday September 28th.  A report was received at approximately 10 PM from a third party alleging that around 9:15 PM their friend was kidnapped and robbed.  Officers contacted the victim who relayed the following story. As she was getting into her car parked on Marion Street in the Coolidge Corner area, a male subject jumped in. The male forced her to drive to a close by ATM and withdraw a sum of money. The victim then drove the subject to the lower Beacon Street area by Park Drive. The male subject got out. The victim then drove to her home, in another community. Once home she texted her friend who contacted us. Officers made contact with the victim. The description we have at this time is a white male. This is an active investigation. The victim was not hurt. 

09/25/2015-09/27/2015

September 25th- September 27

On September 25th officers were dispatched to Beaconsfield Road for a larceny report. Victim reported moving into her new home although construction was still being conducted.  As a result there were a lot of workers coming in and out of her home. Victim reported leaving her purse in her home and returning to it to find a number of items missing. This matter is still under investigation.

On September 25th officers were dispatched to Chestnut Street for a report of larceny. Upon arrival officers spoke to the victim who reported money missing from a safe. Officers interviewed others in the building as well, this matter is still under investigation.

On September 25th officers were dispatched to Gerry Road for a report of a possible resident break in. Upon arrival officers spoke to the victim who reported leaving the apartment and returning to find evidence that someone had rummaged through the apartment and left the rear door open. This matter is still under investigation.

On September 26th officers responded to Strathmore Road for a complaint of a loud party. On arrival, officers met with the resident of the accused loud party. The individual was cooperative in assisting officers in removing guests and lowering the noise level. Officers advised the resident of the town by-law.

On September 26th officers were dispatched to a Commonwealth Avenue store for a larceny report. Upon arrival, a store employee described witnessing the suspect enter the building and take items and leave without paying. The store employee provided officers with a copy of surveillance footage of the larceny. This matter is still under investigation.

On September 27th officers pulled a car over on Longwood Avenue for an expired inspection sticker. When officers spoke to the driver he informed them of warrants out for his arrest. Officers checked with dispatch who confirmed, and the  individual was placed under arrest without incident.

Indecent Assault

Approximately 10:35 last evening, dispatch received a call from a woman, reporting to be indecently assaulted on Beacon Street near Kent Street.  Assailant is initially described as a white male, 6'00", blonde hair, 20's in age, wearing white shirt, dark-colored shorts and a baseball cap. Suspect grabbed the complainant from behind, and fled on foot on Kent Street away from Beacon Street.  Multiple police units conducted a search of the area for the suspect without success. This suspect is of a similar description of a male suspect committing Open & Gross offenses in the area last year. Arrest Made In Arson Case

A Norfolk County Grand Jury has issued four indictments against Alan F. Kaplan, of Brookline, relating to the alleged July 2013 arson of a property that he was involved in developing on Spooner Road in Brookline.

Kaplan was indicted September 21, 2015 for Arson of a Dwelling, Arson of a Building, Accessory before the fact of Arson and Arson with Intent to Defraud Insurance. An indictment warrant was obtained from the Norfolk District Court and Brookline Police detectives placed him under arrest Monday afternoon.

Kaplan was arraigned Tuesday in Norfolk Superior court. He was released on bail his next scheduled court date is December 17^th.

District Attorney Michael W. Morrissey stated after the arrest. “I have to complement the Brookline Police Department for their work and partnership on this case. They kept on working this investigation and developing evidence.”

Brookline Police Superintendent Mark Morgan commented Tuesday, “This arson incident was very frightening and upsetting to the residents of Spooner RD and vicinity, this criminal act jeopardized the safety of the public along with Firefighters and Police Officers. The Brookline Police Department was determined to put our full investigative efforts into arresting any and all individuals involved in this crime. Our investigators in concert with prosecutors of the Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office maintained diligent efforts over the past two years, following up all avenues of investigation leading to the recent  indictment and arrest  of Alan Kaplan along with the previous indictment of Steven McCann.”      

9/18/2015-9/20/2015

On September 18^th, an officer was dispatched to a local gym on Commonwealth Ave. for a report of a larceny.  On scene, the manager reported a gym member was missing a large sum of money from his unsecured locker.  The manager stated he will allow detectives to view the video surveillance.  This matter is still under investigation. 

On September 18^th, an officer was dispatched to a residence on Beacon St. for a past report of larceny of a bicycle.  On scene, the victim reported having the bicycled attached to a fence outside of his residence. After returning home, the bicycle and lock were gone.

On September 20^th, an officer was dispatch to a residence on Addington Rd. for a report of a stolen motor vehicle.  On scene, the officers spoke with victim who stated his sister car was missing from her parking space on the property parking lot. The vehicle was locked and keys in his possession.

On September 20^th, an officer was dispatch to a residence on Egmont St. for a past report on an attempted larceny of a motorized scooter.  On scene, the victim reported parking his scooter in the rear of the building on Friday evening.  The next morning, the victim noticed his scooter was missing. He contacted his neighbor located the scooter on the other side of the parking lot.  The scooter had a considerable amount of damage caused by the individual attempting to manually start the scooter.

On September 20^th, an officer was dispatch to a local business of Harvard St. for a larceny report.  On scene, the store manager reported a store employee noticed a female subject acting suspiciously.  Upon reviewing the video footage, they observed the subject conceal several items in a bag and proceed to walk out of the store without paying for the items. Suspect still at large. 

09/17/2015

On September 17th officers responded to a store on Beacon Street for a report of two individuals trying to steal items out of the store. The store owner reported witnessing these individuals take things from the shelves. Both suspects were arrested without incident and charged with shoplifting.

On September 17th officers responded to a store on Harvard Street for a report of a larceny. Dispatch relayed a description of the suspect. When officers arrived the store owner described witnessing the suspect take two items and tries to conceal them in an over sized bag. Officers were also able to obtain surveillance footage of the store at the time of the larceny. This matter is still under investigation.

09/16/2015

On September 16th officers at the station took a larceny report. The victim reported going to a gym on Commonwealth Avenue, placing personal items in an unlocked locker in the men’s locker room. Upon his return he noticed some personal items missing. This matter is still under investigation.

On September 16th officers responded to a convenience store on Commonwealth Avenue for  a report of counterfeiting bills. Victim was able to give a description of the suspect and the matter is still under investigation.

On September 16th officers responded to Littell Road for a report of a bike theft. Victim reported coming home and leaving her bike in plain view in front of her residence. Victim came back out later to notice the bike was missing. A description of the bike was given and this matter is still under investigation.

09/14/2015-09/15/2015

September 14th- September 15th 

On September 14th officers responded to Chestnut Street for a report of a stolen package. The victim reported items were stolen off her front porch around the estimated time of delivery. This matter is still under investigation.

On September 14th officers were dispatched to Commonwealth Avenue for a report of a larceny from a convenience store. Officers were able to obtain evidence that help identify two suspects wanted in connection with the larceny. The suspects were arrested without incident.

On September 15th officers were approached by two individuals on Harvard Street who stated they just had a motorized scooter stolen from behind their apartment. This matter is still under investigation.

On September 15th officers observed a vehicle traveling in the wrong direction on Station Street. Officers pulled the vehicle over to conduct a traffic stop. After obtaining the driver’s license and registration a query of the driver’s information came back that the driver had a suspended license. The individual was placed under arrest without incident.

On September 15th officers were dispatched to Beacon Street for a report of a suspicious person. Officers were able to locate the suspicious person and stop him for questioning. After identifying the individual the officers were able to query his name and dispatched relayed that the individual had a warrant out for his arrest. The individual was placed under arrest without incident.

Victim reported that she left her apartment on St Paul St at approximately 9:00pm last night and when she returned this morning at approximately 10:15am her laptop was missing from her bed.  She has a first floor apartment.  She said that she left her windows ajar overnight.  Also, she left the back, exterior door which is located in her bedroom locked.  When she returned home it was unlocked.  No other property was taken.

Victim stated he and his 3 roommates had all left their apartment on St Paul St for a couple of hours at 2230 hours on 09/12/2015 and when they returned at 0200 hours on 09/13/2015 he discovered his laptop missing.  Victim stated that he left one of his windows all the way open but the screen closed.   When he returned the screen was halfway up.

Victim reports a larceny of a bicycle at his residence on the VFW Parkway . Victim stated that he and his wife went riding earlier in the day. They came home at 1200 hours, and left the bicycle next to the front door behind the bushes unlocked.

He came back out at 1500 hours and discovered the bicycle missing.

Victim reports her motor vehicle was broken into on Monmouth Ct  She stated that her car was parked last night around 8:00pm. Upon coming out this morning around 9:00am she observed that both the Passenger door and rear driver's side door were ajar. Upon a closer look she observed that her black duffel bag containing numerous items was taken. Also someone had attempted to steal her radio.

A neighbor saw  a suspicious  Hispanic male, bald, in his mid 40's, about 6'00", 190lbs, wearing a long blk jacket, blk khaki pants, and red sneakers in the area prior to the break.

Victim reports her Bank VISA debit card had being used for a fraudulent transaction.  Victim reports that on 09-05-2015 a charge was made to her card in, Winchester VA.  Victim never lost control of her card and the bank has cancelled that number, a new card is being mailed to her.

09/08/2015

On August 8th, officers were dispatched to Harvard Street for a report of a larceny at a supermarket. When officers arrived the store manager followed the suspect and gave the officers a description of the suspect. Officers were able to catch up with the suspect and arrest the individual without incident.

9/4/2015-9/6/2015

On September 4^th, an officer was dispatched to a residence on Beacon St. for a past larceny report.  On scene, the victim reported she was shopping at a local grocery store and had placed her wallet under her purse, which was located in her shopping cart. While inside the store she walked away from her cart several times. Upon checking out she noticed that her wallet was missing. This matter is still under investigation.

On September 4^th, an officer was dispatched to the intersection of Chapel Street and Longwood Avenue for a report of a larceny of a bicycle. On scene, the victim reported having his bicycle locked to a telephone pole with a cable and padlock. The victim stated he had left his apartment early in the afternoon and on his arrival home in the early evening he noticed the cable was cut and his bicycle was stolen.

On September 5^th, an officer conducting traffic enforcement in the area of Harvard Street and Longwood Avenue observe a vehicle travel make a complete stop and noticed only one functional brake light.  The officer pulled the behind the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop at Harvard Street and Thorndike Street.  The officer request the operator’s license and registration.  The driver produced his license but failed to produce the vehicles registration. A query of the operator’s information revealed his license was suspended.  Brookline Dispatch confirmed the status of the subject license was suspended and placed him under arrest.

On September 5^th, an officer was dispatched to a residence on Coulbourne Crescent for a report of a stolen bicycle. On scene, the victim reported leaving her bicycle in her garage, which was left open all night.  The next morning she noticed her bicycle was gone. No other items were missing from the garage.

On September 6^th, an officer was dispatched to a residence on Thornton Rd. for a report of a past Breaking and Entering.  The victim stated that he and his family had been out a few hours during the evening.  When they arrived home, the victim noticed back door was damaged and it appeared to be kicked in.  The victim reported nothing missing.

On September 6^th, an officer was dispatched to the Brookline Police front desk to take a report of a past larceny of a motorcycle. Upon the officer’s arrival, the victim reported living at an apartment on Babcock St. The victim stated she had taken her trash out and noticed her motorcycle was missing for her open air garage.  The victim stated she had the set of keys in her possession. This matter is still under investigation.

On September 6^th, officers were dispatched to a local grocery store on Harvard Street. for a report of a shoplifting in progress. At this time Brookline Police Dispatch broadcast that a female suspect had just fled the store being pursued by a loss prevention employee. On scene, officers observed a male and a female appear to be in a verbal altercation. The female was walking away from the stores property and was emptying items out of her handbag and throwing them back towards the male. The officers stopped her from fleeing the scene.  The store employee stated he had noticed the subject putting a number of items into her handbag and proceeded to exit the store.  The employee alerted a co-worker to call the police and confronted the subject, which is when the police arrived.  The subject has been placed under arrest.  

9/3/2015

On August 3^rd, an officer was dispatched to Russell Street for a report of a past breaking and entering of a motor vehicle.  On scene, the victim reported parking his car in the driveway next to his wife’s car the night before.  The next morning, the victim noticed both vehicles contents were in disarray. The victim reported missing a small sum of loose change, a license plate and the vehicle’s owner’s manual.

On August 3^rd, officers were dispatched to Commonwealth Ave. for a shoplifting in progress.  Brookline Dispatch gave the description of the suspect over the radio.  On scene, the officers observed an individual matching the description of the shoplifter at a self-serve pay station.  A store employee confirmed the individual was the male in question and stated the subject had placed multiple items into his pockets and backpack. Subsequently, the subject walked away from the kiosk without removing any of the described items out or paying for them.  Officers stopped the individual and admitted he place the store items into his backpack without paying for them.  One of the officers searched the subject’s backpack which contained the stolen items.  The subject was placed under arrest and transported to the Brookline Police Station.

On August 3^rd, an officer while assigned to the Bicycle/Pedestrian Enforcement Unit, on St. Mary’s St. observed a vehicle operating the wrong direction.  The vehicle approached the driver and advised him of a reason for the stop and asked for his license and registration. The operator informed the officer that he did not have his license in his possession, but that he did have a license.  The officer returned to his cruiser and conducted a computer check on the operator which revealed his license was revoked. The subject was placed under arrest.

09/02/2015

On September 2nd, officers were on patrol on Harvard Street when they observed a vehicle make an illegal “U-Turn”. Officers pulled the vehicle over, when asking for the driver’s license and registration it was determined that the driver was the registered owner of the vehicle but did not have a license. Officers dispatched in the information about the driver and the vehicle and it was revealed that the driver had a suspended license. Officers informed the driver they would be placing her under arrest for operating a motor vehicle after suspension. The officers arrested the driver without incident.

On September 2nd, officers where conducting traffic enforcement in the area of Essex Street. When they observed a vehicle traveling at what officers believed to be a high rate of speed. Officers ran a query of the vehicle and the vehicles registered owner had a warrant out. Officers pulled the vehicle over and it was identified that the driver was indeed the registered owner. Officers placed the driver under arrest without incident for the warrant.

8/31/2015-9/1/2015

On August 31^st, an officer parked on Independence Drive observed a vehicle entering the travel lane without signaling.  The officer activated his emergency overhead lights and safely initiated a traffic stop. The officer asked the operator to produce his driver's license and vehicle registration. He produced a only a vehicles registration. The officer queried the driver’s information on the cruisers laptop which revealed the operator did not have a valid driver’s license.  The subject was placed under arrest.  

On August 31^st, officers were dispatched to a residence on Egmont St. for a past report of a larceny.  On scene, the victim reported locking his bicycle to a bike rack in the rear of the building the night of August 30^th. The next day the victim noticed the bicycles wheels were removed from the bike.

On August 31^st, an officer conducting traffic enforcement at the intersection of Park St. and Marion St. observed a vehicle make a wrong turn onto Marion St. which is marked as a “One Way” street.  The officer motioned for the operation to pull over.  The officer informed the driver as to the reason for the stop and asked for his driver’s license and registration. A query of the operators’ information revealed he did not have a valid driver’s license.  The subject was placed under arrest and transported to Brookline Police Department for the booking process.  During the process, officers found a small plastic baggy containing a white powdery substance.  Due to the officers’ training and experience, he believed the substance to be cocaine.

On August 31^st, officers were dispatched to Freeman St. for a past report of a residential Breaking and Entering and Larceny of Property.  The victim reported during the process of moving into her apartment she left with her son for a few hours.  When she returned the victim noticed someone had gained entry through the side bathroom window.  The victim reported missing several pieces of jewelry and a laptop.  This matter is still under investigation.

On August 31st, officers were dispatched to Babcock St. for a past report of a residential Breaking and Entering and Larceny of Property. On scene, the victims reported leaving their apartment for a couple hours and when they returned they noticed the rear apartment door was opened ajar.  The victims reported missing several pieces of jewelry, a camera, and a laptop.  This matter is still under investigation.

On September 1^st, an officer was dispatched to a Kent St. for a past report of a residential Breaking and Entering.  On scene, the victims reported she had been out of the apartment due to repair working being done.  When she returned home, the victim reported noticing her pair of expensive boots missing.

On September 1^st, an officer was dispatched to a residence on Beacon St. for a past report of a larceny.  On scene, the victim stated hiring movers to move from her residence on St. Mary’s St. to her new Beacon St. apartment.  After unpacking, the victim noticed several pieces of jewelry missing and money in her wallet were missing.  This matter is still under investigation.

On August 29^th, an officer while on patrol on St. Paul Street was approached by a Brookline resident who wanted to report her son’s bicycle missing.  The resident stated her son locked the bicycle to the fence behind her building in the afternoon on August 27^th.  She stated the bicycle was locked with a chain and pad lock to the fence.  The next morning, she discovered the bicycle as well as the chain and pad lock was gone.

On August 30^th, an officer was dispatched to a residence on Linden Street for a report of an attempted breaking and entering.  On scene, the victims stated they were on vacation and when they returned home they noticed the rear window screen cut and patio furniture moved around.  The victims stated the apartment was left undisturbed and reported nothing missing at this time.

August 27th, 2015

On August 27th officers were conducting speed enforcement on Hammond Street when officers stopped a vehicle for going over the designated speed limit. The officers asked the individual for his license and registration and the individual produced an out of country license and the officers noticed the license had expired. The individual was placed under arrest for speeding, no registration in Possession and no license to operate a motor vehicle.

August 26th, 2015

On Wednesday August 26th, 2015 officers where on patrol in the area of Washington Street, when officers noticed a motor vehicle was not displaying a Registration Sticker on its license plate. Officers ran a query of the vehicle and it came back that the registered owner had a suspended license. Officers proceeded to pull the vehicle over and placed the individual under arrest without incident.

8/24/2015-8/25/2015

On August 24^th, an officer while on patrol on Harvard Street observed an individual riding a bicycle matching a description of a bicycle that was recently reported stolen.  The officer approached the subject and identified himself as a Brookline Police Officer. The officer requested to speak with an individual to which he agreed.  The individual stated he was the owner of the bicycle and Brookline Dispatch confirmed the bicycle he was riding was not reported stolen. Brookline Dispatch conducted a criminal history query on the individual, which revealed the subject had an outstanding warrant for his arrest.  The individual was placed under arrest.

On August 25th, an officer while on patrol on Washington Street conducted a random query of a vehicle stopped at a red light.  The query revealed the vehicle’s registration and the owner’s driver’s license were suspended. The officer activated her overhead emergency lights and safely initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of White Place and Washington St.  The officer asked the operator for his license and registration which confirmed he was the owner of the vehicle. Brookline Dispatch confirmed the operator’s license and the vehicles registration were suspended and the subject was placed under arrest.

On August 25^th, an officer stationed at the front desk spoke with a resident who wanted to report her bicycle stolen.  The victim stated the night before she had locked her bicycle to a tree at the corner of Willow Crescent and Clinton Rd.  The next morning the victim noticed the bicycle was missing and the cable lock that secured the bicycle was cut and lying on the ground.  

On August 25^th, an officer responded to Beacon St. for a disturbance call.   The caller reported to Brookline Dispatch that the individual fled the apartment in his vehicle.  The officer spotted a vehicle matching the description that had been broadcasted over the radio and activated his overhead emergency blue lights to initiate a traffic stop on Kent St.  The officer advised the individual as to the reason for the stop. The individual stated that he got into a verbal altercation with the reporting person and was banging on the door to get his medication and check book so he could stay at a hotel. The reporting person’s version of what happened matched the subjects.  The officer then requested Brookline Dispatch to run a query check on the subject, which revealed he had a revoked license. The subject was placed under arrest.

On August 25^th, Brookline Dispatch requested units to respond a local gas station on Washington St. for an armed robbery.  Dispatch gave a description of the subject and reported he exited the door heading onto Brookline Ave. Units patrolled the area to no avail. On scene, the store employee reported the individual came through the entrance and announced he was robbing the store. The employee stated the subject had pulled a handgun out and ordered him to put the money from the register into a bag. After taking the money the suspect fled on foot. The store manager arrived on scene and gave the responding officers a copy of the surveillance video. This matter is still under investigation.  

8/21/2015-8/23/2015

On August 21^st, an officer was dispatched to a residence on Atherton Rd. for a possible assault.  On scene, the officer spoke with the male party fitting the description given by the reporting party.  The subject stated he was visiting a friend and they stepped outside the building and both got locked out of the apartment. The friend was located in the area of Summit Ave.  The victim stated that the subject got upset after locking the keys in the apartment and struck the victim in the forehead with his fist. The victim was able to run away from the subject and a neighbor called 911.  The subject was placed under arrest.

On August 21^st, an officer was dispatched to a residence on Beacon St. for a past breaking and entering of a motor vehicle.  On scene, the victim stated he had parked his vehicle locked in the back of the apartment building. A few hours later, the victim went to retrieve an item from his vehicle and he noticed the passenger door ajar. The victim reported missing several medications located in the car.

On August 21^st, an officer observed a vehicle stopped at a red traffic signal in the left lane on Beacon St. westbound at Harvard St. The officer observed the vehicle go through the red traffic signal, crossing two other lanes of vehicle’s for the light and proceed north on Harvard St.  The officer activated his emergency overhead lights, and safely initiated a traffic stop.   The officer then advised the driver as to the reason for the stop and asked for his identification. The operator presented the officer with a passport. The officer queried the operator’s information which confirmed he did not have a valid driver’s license. The subject was placed under arrest.

On August 21^st, an officer was dispatched to a Bonad Rd. for a report of a past residential Breaking and Entering and Larceny of Property.  The victim stated that she had arrived home and observed the contents of her home to be in disarray. The officer concluded the suspect entered through a second story bathroom window and exited through the rear of the porch. The victim reported missing several gift cards and a dress.

On August 22^nd, an officer responded to a business on Commonwealth Ave. for a report of a female shoplifter inside the store. On scene, the officer was approached by a store employee who pointed out and female subject.  The store employee reported the subject was a known shoplifter.  The officer observed the subject walking out the front door with a large bag of  items.  The officer identified himself as a Brookline Police officer. The subject identified herself and a criminal history check of the subject revealed she had outstanding warrants. The officer also found in the subject possession a stolen wallet with a driver’s license and three credit cards.  The suspect was immediately placed under arrest.

On August 22^nd, an officer working on a detail entered a store to purchase a beverage. As the officer was about to exit the store and individual in a hurried fashioned entered the store almost bumping into the officer.  The officer observed the individual remove his backpack and place a bottle of alcohol into the bag.  The subject placed the backpack over his shoulders and exited the store.  The officer confronted the individual and identified himself as a Brookline Police officer. The subject removed the backpack and immediately began to run from the officer.  A foot chase ensued and the subject was stopped at the intersection of Beacon St. and Pleasant St. The subject was placed under arrest and immediately transported to back to the Brookline Police Station.

08/19/2015

On August 19^th, officers were dispatched to Pearl Street for a report of a past theft. Victims stated they came home dropped his bag down at the entrance of their building and leaving it there and returning to his car to get his keys. When he returned he noticed his bag was missing. The victims reported a number of valuable items where in the bag at the time of the theft. This matter is still under investigation.

On August 19^th, officers were dispatched to James Street for a report of an attempted motorcycle theft. The victim recalled parking his motorcycle and returning later to find significant front end damage to the bike and also the ignition area. It appears the suspect tried stealing the bike but after an unsuccessful attempt the suspect fled the scene. This matter is still under investigation.

8/18/2015

On August 18^th, an officer on patrol observed a sedan traveling eastbound on Montfort St. The officer conducted a random query of the vehicles registration with the cruisers laptop. The query revealed the vehicles registration was revoked and the owner of the vehicle had an Expired/Non-renewable driver’s license. The officer activated his overhead emergency lights and safely initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of Essex St. and Mountfort St.  The officer then advised the operator as to the reason for the stop and asked the driver to identify herself, which confirmed she was the owner of the vehicle.  The subject was placed under arrest.

On August 18^th, an officer on patrol was flagged down by a Brookline resident on the corner of Babcock St. and Commonwealth Ave. The resident informed the officer that an individual just set fire to cardboard boxes in the trash pile on the backside of the resident business in front of Babcock St. The officer located the suspect and asked him to identify himself.  Brookline Dispatch indicated that the male had an outstanding warrant and placed him under arrest.

On August 18^th, an officer was dispatched to Brookline Ave. for a past report of a bicycle stolen.  The victim stated he noticed his bicycle was missing from River Rd., The victim reported the bicycle was left unlocked leaning against a No Parking sign.

On August 18^th, an officer on patrol on Lee Street, observed a vehicle switching lanes without a using a turn signal.  The officer conducted a random query of the vehicle on the cruisers laptop, which revealed the inspection sticker was expired. The officer activated the overhead emergency blue lights and initiated a traffic stop. The officer asked the operator, for his operator's license and vehicle registration, and advised him for the reason of the vehicle stop.  The driver advised the officer he did not possess a valid driver’s license and the subject was placed under arrest.

Brookline Police report the arrest of a subject this past weekend. This subject had been sought for committing several breaks and entering’s in our Town. The breaks happened in the early part of this month in the north section of Town. Evidence from the house break-ins led officers to get an arrest warrant out of Brookline District Court late last week. Saturday August 15th the subject was located and arrested.  

8/17/2015

On August 17^th, an officer while on patrol recognized a subject from past encounters and believed the subject to have active warrants for his arrest.  The Brookline Dispatch confirmed the subject had two outstanding warrants and was placed under arrest.

On August 17^th, an officer was dispatched to Warwick Rd. for a past report of larceny.  On scene, the victim stated his unlocked scooter was missing from the alley way that runs the length of Warwick Rd.

On August 17^th, an officer was dispatched to St. Paul St. for a past report of a larceny of a bicycle. The victim reported he had chained the bicycle to a metal fence just outside of his residence the night before.  The victim noticed the bicycle and lock missing the next morning.

On August 17^th, an officer assigned to the front desk was approached by a man who wanted to report his vehicle stolen.  The victim stated that he had attended church service in Brookline on Colchester St. the morning before. The vehicle would not start and left vehicle to be towed.   The towing company had never arrived and the vehicle was gone. 

8/14/2015-8/16/2015

On August 14^th, an officer while monitoring traffic at Independence Dr. and Gerry Rd. observed a vehicle crossing the double yellow line in the middle of the road. The officer activated his overhead emergency lights and initiated a traffic stop. The driver did not have a valid driver’s license and was placed under arrest.

On August 14^th, officers dispatched to Harvard St. for a check on a well-being.  According to the reporting person, the male had not shirt on and was pushing a shopping carrier in the middle of Harvard St., accompanied by a white female. On scene, the officers asked the individuals for identification. The officers conducted a criminal history inquiry of the subjects revealed the female had outstanding warrants for her arrest. The female subject was placed under arrest.

On August 14^th, an officer was dispatched to a residence on James St. for a past report of breaking and entering and larceny. On scene, the victim stated he was out of town for a few weeks. A few days before returning home, the neighbor notified the victim that door to his residence as well as the rear bedroom window were left open. The victim asked the neighbor to secure the residence until he could make arrangements to return home. Once home, the victim noticed his apartment in disarray.  The victim reported missing several electronic devices and pieces of his wife’s jewelry missing.

On August 14^th, an officer stationed at the intersection of Harvard St. and School St. observed a vehicle make a left turn from Harvard St. onto School St. without yielding to the oncoming traffic. The officer activated his overhead emergency lights and initiated a traffic stop. The driver had a valid license and was the registered owner of the vehicle. The occupants of the vehicle were not wearing seat belts and the officer requested the occupants’ identification. The officer conducted a criminal history inquiry of the passengers, which revealed one of the passengers had a warrant outstanding warrant for his arrest. The passenger was placed under arrest and the driver was issued a citation.

On August 14^th, an officer assigned to the area of Cypress Field heard a radio transmission by an officer stationed in the Coolidge Corner that he was in pursuit of a scooter which was failing to stop.  The subject was stopped at intersection of Harvard St. and Linden St. and the subject was placed under arrest.

On August 15^th, an officer was dispatched to Beacon St. for report of a stolen bicycle. On scene, the victim stated his bicycle was stolen from a bike rack in the rear of the building between the night of August 14^th and the early afternoon of August 15^th. This matter is still under investigation.

On August 16^th, an officer was dispatched to a residence on Pearl St. for a reporting of breaking and entering of a dwelling. On scene, the victim stated he had gone to church and when he arrived home he observed the locking mechanism was detached from the door. The victim noticed missing several pieces of jewelry missing and an alarm clock missing. This matter is still under investigation.

On August 16th, an officer monitoring traffic at the intersection of Harvard Street and Green Street observed a vehicle traveling in his location and conducted a random query of the vehicles registration with the cruisers laptop.  The query revealed the subject had two outstanding warrants out for his arrest. The officer activated his overhead emergency blue lights and initiated a traffic stop. The officer advised the operator as to the reason for the stop. The driver of the vehicle was in fact the owner of the vehicle. The subject was placed under arrest.
