An officer was conducting a random query on a vehicle on Beacon Street. The officer asked for the driver’s license and registration. The driver was placed under arrest for having a default warrant out of Brookline District Court

4/7/15

April 7th
Officers responded to a report of suspicious activity on Perry Street. The victim heard loud banging which sounded like someone was trying to break in.

Officers responded to a report of a stolen bike on Middlesex Road. Officers located a suspect that matched the description. The bike was recovered and the suspect was placed under arrest.

Officers responded to multiple hit and run motor vehicle accidents on Gerry Road. The suspect was found attempting to pull out of a parking spot. Based on the evidence at the scene, the driver was placed under arrest for driving under the influence.

An officer responded to a report of fraud. The victim filed their taxes and received a message from their accountant with a messaging indicating that the tax return had already been filed under their social security number. This matter is still under investigation.

Officers responded to a report of a breaking and entering of a motor vehicle on Pond Ave. The suspect smashed the passenger side of the window and took off taking some personal items. This matter is still under investigation.

An officer responded to a report of a counterfeit check. The suspect was placed under arrest.

Officers responded to a report of a subject sitting in the middle of the roadway on Channing Road. The officer noticed a vehicle with some recent damage. Based on the evidence at the scene, the subject was placed under arrest for driving under the influence of alcohol.

March 21st
Officers responded to a report of a breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. The individual is unsure if they left their motor vehicle unlocked. The individual noticed some things missing inside the vehicle. This matter is still under investigation.

Officers responded to a report of a hit and run motor vehicle accident on Village Way. This matter is still under investigation.

March 22nd
An officer noticed a vehicle causing a lane obstruction on Mountfort Street. The officer activated their emergency headlights and saw in the driver’s side of the vehicle that the operator was slouched over the steering wheel. Based on the evidence at the scene, the driver was operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

An officer was conducting a random query on a vehicle along Harvard and Beacon Street. The officer pulled over the vehicle and asked for the driver’s license and registration. The driver was operating with a suspended license and larceny of a motor vehicle. The driver was placed under arrest.

An individual witnessed a vehicle hitting a parked car on Chestnut Hill Avenue. Officers located the vehicle and pulled it over. Based on the evidence at the scene the driver was operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and was placed under arrest.

Officers responded to a report of a noise complaint on Chestnut Street. The subject received a by-law citation.

Officers observed a vehicle on Commonwealth Avenue parked in the middle of the road. Based on the evidence at the scene, the driver was operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and was placed under arrest.

An officer responded to a report of a motor vehicle theft on Longwood Avenue. The subject parked the vehicle overnight and found that it is missing. Officers found the vehicle abandoned in Rhode Island with some damage. This matter is still under investigation.

An officer responded to a fraudulent report on Verndale Street. The employee at the local bank reported an individual cashing fake checks into their bank account. This matter is still under investigation.

March 15th
An officer noticed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Harvard Street. The driver was placed under arrest on a default warrant out of Westborough District Court.

March 16th
An individual reported some missing items in their bedroom of their apartment on Freeman Street. This matter is still under investigation.

An officer noticed a vehicle failing to stop at a red light on Harvard Street. The officer pulled the vehicle over and asked for the driver’s license and registration. The driver was operating a vehicle with an invalid inspection sticker and invalid license plates.

An officer was observing traffic on Harvard Street and noticed a vehicle with an expired inspection sticker. The subject was placed under arrest on a default warrant out of Framingham District Court.

An officer responded to a report of an identity theft. The victim’s accountant tried to contact them upon filing their federal taxes. The accountant received an error message which indicated that the victim’s taxes were already filed under their social security number.  This matter is still under investigation.

Police reports March 4th to March 8th 2015

March 4th
An officer was conducting traffics enforcement on Harvard Street when the officer noticed a vehicle with an expired inspection sticker. The officer pulled the vehicle over and asked for the driver’s license and registration. The driver was operating a vehicle with a suspended license and was placed under arrest.

Officer s responded to a report of a breaking and entering of a residence on VFW Parkway. When officers went inside and inspected the residence, they noticed the door had a couple of pry marks to the door sill. Officers found that each room in the house has been tampered with and some items were stolen. This matter is still under investigation.

Officers responded to a report about a hit and run accident on Pond Avenue involving a yellow school bus. This matter is still under investigation.

March 5th
There was a warrant arrest on Beacon Street. The subject was placed under arrest on a default warrant out of Brookline District Court.

An officer was observing traffic on Harvard Street and noticed a vehicle with a defective break light. The officer pulled the vehicle over. The driver was operating a vehicle after revocation. 

March 6th
Police responded to a report of robbery at a local business on Beacon Street. The subject took some items without paying for them. One of the employees of the store confronted the subject about not paying for the item.  The subject then became physical and assaulted the employee. The subject was placed under arrest.

Officers responded to a report of a noise complaint. The subject has received a town by-law citation.

March 7th
The victim submitted their tax form to a local business on Harvard Street. The victim was notified by their health insurance that their social security number had been hacked by an unknown person.
An officer was monitoring traffic on Harvard and Beacon Street when the officer noticed a vehicle making an improper left turn. The officer pulled the vehicle over and asked for the driver’s license and registration.  The subject was placed under arrest for operating a vehicle with a suspended license.

March 8th

Officers responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident on Boylston Street. There were no injuries.

2/26/15-3/3/15

Police reports 2/26/15 to 3/3/15

Officers responded to a residence on Babcock Street on reports of a past breaking and entering. The resident reports coming home and finding the living room window and some items on the floor by the window.  The resident states that 2 laptop computers were missing.  A report has been filed. This matter is still under investigation.

Officers responded to Hyslop Road for a report of a past Break & Entering & Larceny of a motor vehicle.  The owner of the vehicle states that the vehicle was left unlocked and it appears the only item missing is the vehicles registration. A report has been filed. This matter is still under investigation.

Officers responded to Mountfort Street for a three car motor vehicle accident. All parties advised they were not injured and denied medical assistance. Damage was done to all 3 vehicles, and two of those were towed.  One operator was cited for following too closely.

Officers responded to a Business on Harvard St for a shoplifter who had just left the store and left towards the Centre Street Lot. Brookline Police Dispatch supplied a description the suspect carrying a white bag.  A search of the area was unsuccessful in locating the suspect.

Officers respond to a report of a breaking and entering of a Motor Vehicle on Penniman Road.
Victim reports vehicle broken into while parked in driveway. Vehicle was unlocked. This matter is still under investigation.

Motor vehicle crash St Paul St and Thatcher St. 3 people transported to the hospital. One operator cited for a stop sign violation.

March 2nd
Larceny of a bicycle on Harvard Ave. Bike taken from the basement. Report taken, under investigation.

Resident of Chapel St reports she was the victim of credit card fraud. Matter under investigation.

March 1st
Malicious Damage: report that a male party had either used a projectile or his fist to break the front window of a business on Harvard St. Circular hole in window with cracking. This matter is still under investigation.

Traffic Crash
A traffic signal was reported to be dislodged from its base and laying in a snowbank at the corner of Washington St. and Walnut St. The traffic signal was cordoned off with traffic cones and the area made safe. The Brookline DPW was notified.

Warrant Arrest:
Motor vehicle stop on Beacon St.The operator had an outstanding warrant out of Somerville MA and was placed under arrest.

February 28th
Malicious Damage
A motor vehicle was keyed while parked in parking lot on Carlton St. Report taken. This matter is still under investigation.

Fire:
Apartment fire on Winchester St. Brookline Fire Department on scene to put out fire. Residents relocated.

OUIL Arrest:
While conducting a traffic stop at Washington St and Beacon St it was determined the operator was under the influence of alcohol and paced under arrest.

Shoplifting
Officers responded to a business on Commonwealth Ave as a result a subject will be summons to court for shoplifting .

February 8th
An officer noticed a vehicle with an expired inspection sticker traveling along Harvard Street. The officer pulled the vehicle over and asked for the driver’s license and registration.  The driver was operating a vehicle with a revoked license. Based on the evidence at the scene, the driver was also in possessed of narcotics. The subject was placed under arrest.

February 11th
An officer conducted a random query on a vehicle traveling on Washington Street. The officer conducted a traffic stop and asked for the driver’s license and registration. The driver had a warrant and was placed under arrest.

February 12th
Officers received a call from a Clark Road resident about two males, looking through parked cars. The resident told officers the direction suspects ran in. Officers canvased the area and found two suspects fitting the suspects description and proceeded to question them. The witness identified the suspects that broke into the cars. The suspects were then placed under arrest.

February 13th
Police officers responded to a report of shoplifting at a local business. The store manager observed the subject placing items in their pocket. The police arrived and placed the subject under arrest. This matter is still under investigation.

An officer was observing a vehicle traveling on Harvard Street with snow on the roof of the vehicle. The officer pulled the vehicle over and asked for a driver’s license and registration. The driver was operating a vehicle with a revoked license and was placed under arrest.

Police reports January 26th to February 2nd 2015

January 26th
Two officers were dispatched to a local business. The suspect entered the store and one of the managers observed the suspect ripping the security tags off the items.  This was recorded on security surveillance system inside the store. The suspect was escorted into the office and was placed under arrest. This matter is still under investigation.  

January 28th
An officer noticed a vehicle traveling above the speed limit. The officer confirmed the vehicle was traveling above the speed limit with a radar. The officer pulled the vehicle over and asked for the driver’s license and registration. The driver operating the vehicle was operating a vehicle with a suspended license. 

January 30th
An officer, fire department and ambulance responded to a report of a vehicle embedded into a snow bank on Summit Ave. An EMT observed the driver to be slumped over the wheel. The officer asked the driver some questions. Based on the evidence at the scene, the driver was operating the vehicle under the influence of intoxicating liquor and was placed under arrest.

January 31st
An officer observed a vehicle going through an intersection against a red signal on Harvard Street. The officer pulled the vehicle over and asked for the driver’s license and registration. The driver was operating a vehicle with a suspended license.  

Officers noticed a subject, holding a plastic bag standing in front of a building. As police slowed to look at the suspect, the suspect ran away. Officers exited their vehicle and asked if they could ask some questions. The Suspect continued to run away and when ordered to stop, continued to run away. Officers pursued the Suspect on foot. The Suspect was eventually caught.  The Suspect had seven outstanding warrants and was placed under arrest.

February 2nd
Two officers were conducting a random query on a passing vehicle on Beacon Street. The owner of the vehicle had a revoked license. The vehicle was pulled over and the officer confirmed the driver was the owner of the vehicle. The driver was placed under arrest for operating a vehicle with a revoked license.

Police officers responded to a report of a shoplifter at a local business on Beacon St. The subject placed items in a bag and fled. The store manager described the subject to the officers. The officers identified the suspect walking on the street. The subject was placed under arrest. This matter is still under investigation.
