Arrest

Occurred 7:42AM (3/11) – Newton St./Clyde St.

Police executed a traffic stop for a driving violation. The operator could not produce any form of identification, including his license. After a check, it was discovered that the operator did not have a driver’s license and he was subsequently arrested for being not duly licensed.

Malicious Damage

Occurred between 8:30AM and 9:12AM (3/11) – Cypress St./Waverly St.

Police responded to a report of malicious damage to a vehicle. The victim stated that the side of his vehicle had been damaged by a sharp object. Police are following up on the case.

Fraud

Occurred between 1:33PM (3/9) and 1:33PM (3/11) – Babcock St.

Police responded to a report of fraudulent use of a credit card. The victim stated that he checked his online credit statement and noticed a fraudulent charge from a website. Police are following up on the case.

Larceny

Occurred between 4:00PM (3/8) and 4:55PM (3/11) – Hancock Rd.

Police responded to a report of larceny. The victim stated that an outdoor metal statue was taken from her back patio. The statue was heavy and probably needed two people to move it. Police are following up on the case.

March 10th

Breaking and Entering of a Motor Vehicle

Occurred between 7:00PM (3/9) and 6:00PM (3/10) – 9 John St.

Police responded to a report of malicious damage to a vehicle. The complainant, the daughter of the vehicle’s owner, stated that the vehicle’s driver’s side window and front windshield were smashed. There was also a key in the ignition that did not belong to that vehicle. Another vehicle in the surrounding area also had the windshield smashed. Police are following up on the case.

Larceny

Occurred between 5:00PM (3/9) and 10:00AM (3/10) – 1309 Beacon St.

Police responded to a report of a larceny. The victim, a security guard at the Bank of America, stated that he had placed his laptop computer under the desk last night. The following morning, everything appeared to be normal but after leaving the area to help out with parking, the victim returned to find his laptop missing. Police are following up on the case.

Burglary

Occurred between 9:00AM (2/27) and 8:05AM (3/10) – Martha Lane

Complainant reported that she and her husband were house sitting for a family member when they noticed that a door was unlocked. There were several drawers opened and a lamp was removed and placed onto a bed. Police are following up on the case.

March 9th

Arrest

Occurred 3:15PM (3/9) – 46 Tappan St.

Police observed a male trespassing on Brookline High School property. Upon identifying the male, it was confirmed that he was not permitted to be on any Brookline High School property. He was arrested for violating his trespass order.

Occurred 7:23PM (3/9) – 1633 Beacon St.

Police located a vehicle that had been involved earlier in a hit and run. Based on conversation with the driver of the vehicle, officers became concerned that he may be intoxicated. The driver was subsequently arrested for operating under the influence of liquor, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, operating to endanger, and marked lanes violation.

Fraud

Occurred between 7:00AM (11/25/2009) and 3:00PM (12/11/2009) – Park St.

Police responded to a report of fraud. The victim stated that her department store credit card had multiple unauthorized charges. Police are following up on the case.

Occurred 8:57AM (3/9) – Denny Rd.

Police responded to a report of a fraudulent use of a credit card. The victim stated that he received a call from Foot Locker shoe store about a recent purchase with his credit card. The victim stated he had not purchased anything at Foot Locker recently. Police are following up on the case.

March 8th

Graffiti

Occurred between 9:00AM (3/4) and 9:03AM (3/8) – Rawson Rd./Gardner Rd.

Police responded to a report of graffiti on a wall. The caller did not know how long the graffiti had been there but believes it was most likely there for only a few days. Police are following up on the case.

Malicious Damage

Occurred between 12:00PM (3/5) and 10:00AM (3/6) – 15 Claflin Rd.

Police responded to a report of malicious damage. The victim stated that two nights in a row her motor scooter had been damaged. There were scratches along the side from it being knocked over and the front was broken. Police are following up on the case.

Larceny

Occurred between 2:00PM and 6:00PM (3/8) – 523 VFW Parkway

Police responded to a report of larceny. The victim stated that he parked his car in the Ashville parking lot and upon returning noticed his license plates were missing. Police are following up on the case.

Breaking and Entering of a Motor Vehicle

Occurred 12:29PM (3/8) – 637 Washington St.

Police responded to a report of a suspicious white male walking between parked vehicles in a lot. The caller then stated that she witnessed this man enter a parked vehicle. Officers located the suspect and after further investigation placed him under arrest for two counts of breaking and entering of a motor vehicle, attempt to commit a crime, and possession of a class E substance (possible Clonazepam pill was found in suspect’s pocket).

Burglary

Occurred between 4:30PM (3/7) and 5:50AM (3/8) – Harvard St.

Police responded to a report of a breaking and entering at a local store. The victim stated that when he closed for the day, he took all the money out of the register and placed it in a secure location. When the victim arrived the next morning, the alarm was beeping and the back door had been pried open. Officers found that the phone and alarm cables had been severed and that the tape from the security cameras had been removed. Police are following up on the case.

Brookline PD - Park Interns

Position: Park Police Interns

Start Date: May 24th 2010

Schedule: Nights and Weekends, till Labor Day

Qualifications: Preference to Town residents who have attained the age of 18 and are enrolled in college, with an interest in Criminal Justice. Park Interns will ensure that park rules, regulations and Town by‐laws are adhered to, within the recreational areas of the Town. They will work closely with the Police officers on the street as well as Park Rangers from the Park Department. Hours will be late afternoon and evening shifts. We are seeking highly motivated people who enjoy interacting with people from all walks of life. They should enjoy being outside getting exercise as they may be required to travel between several locations and interacting with people in the parks.

March 5th - 7th

Arrest

Occurred 1:13AM (3/5) – 44 Washington St.

Police executed a traffic stop for an equipment violation. Officers noticed that there were seven people in the car, which was designed to hold five. After identifying all of the passengers, it was discovered that one had an active warrant issued by Roxbury Court. The man was subsequently placed under arrest.

Occurred between 2:25AM and 3:45AM (3/5) – Beacon St./Hawes St.

Police located a vehicle that had been involved earlier in a hit and run. Based on conversation with the driver of the vehicle and his girlfriend, officers became concerned that he may be intoxicated. The driver was subsequently arrested for operating under the influence of liquor and leaving the scene of an accident.

Occurred between 1:50PM and 2:10PM (3/6) 273 Harvard St.

Police performed a traffic stop for a driving violation. The driver stated that he did not have a license. After confirming that the driver did not have a valid driver’s license, he was subsequently placed under arrest for operating a motor vehicle being not duly licensed.

Occurred 1:25AM (3/7) – Washington St./Juniper St.

Police executed a traffic stop for a speeding violation. The driver stated that he did not have a driver’s license. Upon confirmation, the driver was arrested for being not duly licensed.

Assault

Occurred 11:02PM (3/5) – 99 Harvard St.

Police responded to a report of a possible assault with a firearm. Officers located the three boys suspected to be involved and discovered that two of them were carrying pellet guns painted to look real. Through further investigation, it was found that only one of the suspects used the weapon in a threatening manner and he was subsequently arrested for assault by means of a dangerous weapon.

Graffiti

Occurred between 9:00PM (3/6) and 8:00AM (3/7) – 235 Cypress St.

Police reported to a report of graffiti on a dumpster behind a building. Police are following up on the case.

Arson

Occurred between 8:24PM and 10:30PM (3/7) – 227 Babcock St.

Police responded to a report of arson at a local hospital. An employee stated that the suspect began making paper balls and placing them on his bed. He then lit the paper on fire, igniting the mattress, and closed the door. The suspect was located in the lobby of the building and was subsequently arrested for arson.

Malicious Damage

Occurred between 7:00PM (3/4) and 7:55AM (3/5) – 129 Fisher Ave.

Police responded to a report of malicious damage to a building and breaking and entering. The caller stated that a Newbury College employee’s office was ransacked, with papers and books strewn around the floor. Police are following up on the case.

Occurred between 7:00PM (3/4) and 8:00AM (3/5) – 135 Fisher Ave.

Police responded to a report of malicious damage at a Newbury College building. A Newbury College employee stated that he noticed two glass panels from the library door were broken. Police are following up on the case.

Occurred 9:25PM (3/6) – Harvard St./Aspinwall Ave.

The victim reported to police that while travelling northbound on Harvard St. She tapped the horn to let a bicyclist know she was behind. At the next red light, the bicyclist picked up a metal object and hit the driver’s front fender and sped off. Police are following up on the case.

Occurred between 9:00PM (3/6) and 9:00AM (3/7) – 66 Lawton St.

The victim reported to police that a flower pot was removed from the property and broken in half. Police are following up on the case.

Burglary

Occurred between 8:15AM (3/5) and 10:00AM (3/5) – Beacon St.

Police responded to a report of a burglary at a local business. The victim stated that upon arriving to work, she placed her pocketbook in her locker. Another employee later noticed that the victim’s pocketbook was on the floor. The victim’s wallet, containing three credit cards and some money, was missing. Police are following up on the case.

Occurred between 5:00PM and 8:00PM (3/6) – Chestnut Hill Ave.

Police responded to a report of a breaking and entering. The victim stated that he left his house to pick up his parents from the airport and when he returned, the garage door was open and several rooms were ransacked. A video game console and two watches were missing. Police are following up on the case.

March 4th

Arrest

Occurred 1:34PM (3/4) – 269 Harvard St.

Police executed a traffic stop for a driving violation. Upon identifying the driver, it was discovered that his license was suspended and that he had an active arrest warrant issued by Dedham Court. The driver was subsequently placed under arrest.

Occurred 5:05PM (3/4) – Mountfort St./Commonwealth Ave.

Police performed a traffic stop for a driving violation. The driver stated that she did not have a license. Upon confirmation of her license status, the driver was placed under arrest for operating a motor vehicle not duly licensed.

Graffiti

Occurred 6:59PM (3/4) – Tappan St./Beaconsfield Rd.

Police responded to a report of a suspect tagging a mailbox. The caller stated that the suspect exited from the passenger’s side of a vehicle and proceeded to mark the mailbox. The tag was similar to many that had been placed throughout the area.

Fraud

Occurred 7:01PM (3/4) – Sherman Rd.

Resident reported to police that she has previously been a victim to ID fraud and believes the same thing is happening now. She stated that false accounts were being created under Washington Mutual (now JP-Morgan) and believes another checking and savings account has been formed. Police are following up on the case.

Malicious Damage

Occurred 9:00AM (3/4) – Brookline Cemetery Walnut St.

Police responded to a report of malicious damage to town property. The complainants, Parks and Recreation employees, stated that they received a call in the morning that there was damage to numerous headstones in a town cemetery. They also observed beer cans strewn around the cemetery. Police are following up on the case.

Larceny

Occurred between 10:00PM (3/3) and 8:53AM (3/4) – 22 Chestnut Pl.

Police responded to a report of a larceny from a motor vehicle. The victim stated that when he approached his vehicle in the morning, he noticed that his left front tire and rim were missing and a cinderblock was left propping up the vehicle. Police are following up on the case.

Breaking and Entering and Larceny of a Motor Vehicle

Occurred between 7:00AM (2/26) and 4:51PM (3/6) – Welland Rd.

Victim reported to police that his locked vehicle had been broken into. Just change was missing from the center console. Police are following up on the case.

Weapons Violation

Occurred 9:05PM (3/3) – 361 Washington St.

Police responded to a report of a possible firearm found at the Brookline Public library. The caller stated that he moved a jacket that was on a table and felt heavy item in the pocket. Police located a handgun, with ammunition, and a cell phone inside the jacket pockets. Detectives were able to identify the suspect from surveillance video. Detectives visited the suspect’s home and he was subsequently arrested for unlawful possession of a large capacity firearm, improper storage of a firearm, carrying a firearm while under the influence of liquor and possession of ammunition.

March 3rd

Arrest

Occurred 7:25PM (3/3) – 210 Chestnut St.

Police responded to a report of a man with several active arrest warrants that were issued by Brookline District Court. He was found to be at his mother’s house and was placed under arrest without incident. While arresting the suspect, officers noticed clothing that matched that of a library theft that had occurred back in December 2009. After further investigation, the man was charged with larceny from a building as well.

Malicious Damage

Occurred between 6:00PM (3/2) and 8:54AM (3/3) – 753 Boylston St.

Police responded to a report of malicious damage to a motor vehicle. The victim stated that he noticed his rear window was smashed when he went outside in the morning. There was also a dent in the frame of the rear window. Police are following up on the case.

Larceny

Occurred between 2:30PM and 4:30PM (3/3) – 66 Tappan St.

Victim reported to police that numerous personal items were missing form her backpack. She stated her backpack was in her locker in the girl’s locker room of the Brookline High School gym but did not have a lock to secure it. She later noticed that her wallet, cell phone, school ID, and several gift cards were missing. Police are following up on the case.

March 2nd

Arrest

Occurred 11:05PM (3/2) – 1266 Commonwealth Ave.

Police observed what appeared to be a drug transaction occur outside a CVS parking lot. Both persons involved were questioned and the suspected dealer was in possession of marijuana and several prescription medications. The suspected dealer was placed under arrest for possession of a class D substance with intent to distribute, conspiracy to violate the controlled substance act, and possession of a class B substance.

Assault

Occurred 12:37PM (3/2) – 278 Washington St.

Police responded to a report of assault on a town parking enforcement officer. The victim stated that she was issuing a ticket for an expired meter violation when the vehicle’s owner approached her, upset about the ticket. The owner proceeded to throw her coffee at the parking enforcement officer. When the victim contacted police dispatch, the owner fled the scene. The vehicle and the owner were later located, identified, and arrested for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and assault and battery on a public employee.

Fraud

Occurred between 12:22PM (1/17) and 12:22PM (3/2) – Harvard Ave.

Police responded to a report of fraud. The victim had been notified that her Capital One credit card was fraudulently used at a gas station in New Jersey. Along with this charge, there were also two additional charges made in Maryland. Police are following up on the case.

Larceny

Occurred between 3:00PM and 5:00PM (3/1) – 115 Greenough St.

Police responded to a report of larceny at the gym at Brookline High School. Two students stated their Northface jackets to be missing after a volleyball game. Police are following up on the case.

Occurred between 2:50PM and 4:40PM (3/2) – Tappan St.

Victim reported to police that her jacket, containing her wallet and other valuables, was stolen from the Brookline High School gym. Police are following up on the case.

Occurred between 12:00PM (1/27) and 12:00PM (2/25) – Cary Rd.

Police responded to a report of a past larceny. The complainant stated that home healthcare workers have been caring for her father in his home. Over the past few weeks they have noticed that numerous items are missing from the house. Police are following up on the case.

Occurred between 11:30PM (3/1) and 5:20PM (3/2) – Regent Cr.

Police responded to a report of larceny from a motor vehicle. The victim stated that she noticed that her vehicle’s glove box and center console were open. The items that were missing were money that had been located in the ashtray, a roll of quarters, and several gift cards. Police are following up on the case.

Breaking and Entering and Larceny of a Motor Vehicle

Occurred between 1:00AM and 10:15AM (3/2) – Welland Rd.

Police responded to a report of a breaking and entering and larceny from a motor vehicle. The victim stated that upon returning to his car, he noticed that his items were strewn around the vehicle. The car had been left unlocked and only some change appears to have been taken. Police are following up on the case.

March 1st

Arrest

• Occurred 8:33PM (2/28) – Mountfort St./Essex St.

Police executed a traffic stop for a driving violation. Upon identifying the driver, it was discovered that her driver’s license was suspended. The officers also noticed the vehicle she was driving had an expired inspection sticker. The driver was subsequently placed under arrest.

• Occurred 10:27PM (2/28) – 525 Harvard St.

Police performed a traffic stop for defective equipment. The driver stated that he currently did not have a license but had in the past. Officers confirmed that the driver’s license had actually been revoked. He was subsequently arrested for operating after revocation.

Larceny

• Occurred between 9:00AM and 2:00PM (2/28) – Browne St.

Police responded to a report of fraud. The victim stated that she was contacted over Facebook by an old friend who claimed that he was in London and had been robbed at gunpoint and needed money. When she offered to help he requested she send money through Western Union, which she did. After a follow up conversation raised her suspicions, the victim called her friend. He explained that someone had hacked into his account and sent this message to everyone. Police are following up on the case.

• Occurred between 8:20AM and 8:45AM (3/1) – 115 Greenough St.

Police responded to a report of three stolen cell phones. Three students at Brookline High School stated that their cell phones were missing. All of the students had left their backpacks in the girl’s locker room in the Tappan St. Gym. Police are following up on the case.

February 26th - 28th

Fraud

• Occurred between 6:27PM (2/21) and 2:24AM (2/23) – Beacon St.

Victim reported to police that his Brookline Bank account had several unauthorized charges. The charges were made in Miami, FL, where the victim had been two weeks prior to the fraudulent charges occurring. Police are following up on the case.

• Occurred between 10:52 (2/23) and 10:52 (2/26) – Fairbanks St.

Victim reported to police that there were unauthorized charges made to his Sovereign Bank debit account. There were a total of eight fraudulent charges. Police are following up on the case.

Larceny

• Occurred between 11:00PM (2/25) and 8:11AM (2/26) – 33 Egmont St.

Police responded to a report of a larceny from a motor vehicle. The victim stated that when she woke up this morning, she found that the windshield wipers on her car were missing. Police are following up on the case.

• Occurred between 5:00PM and 5:15PM (2/25) – 525 Harvard St.

Victim reported to police that while shopping in TJ Maxx, several items were removed from her purse. She stated that her Gucci wallet was missing, containing numerous credit cards and money. Police are following up on the case.

• Occurred between 11:00AM and 11:50AM (2/27) – 320 Harvard St.

Police responded to a local fashion store for a reported shoplifting. The complainant stated that she noticed a thin white female, approximately 5’5” with long dark hair, enter a dressing room with a designer jacket. The suspect left the store without purchasing anything and the complainant realized that her inventory was less one jacket. Police are following up on the case.

Breaking and Entering and Larceny of a Motor Vehicle

• Occurred between 9:00PM (2/14) and 9:00AM (2/18) – Circuit Rd.

Police responded to a report of a breaking and entering and larceny from a motor vehicle. The victim stated that she noticed her sunglasses and purse were missing from her car. Police are following up on the case.

Burglary

• Occurred between 12:00PM and 8:15PM (2/27) – Bonad Rd.

Police responded to a report of a burglary. The caller stated that he was watching his brother-in-law’s house while they were on vacation. He and his wife left for a few hours and upon return, noticed that the side door to the house was ajar and a window was open. When he went upstairs, he noticed that all the bedrooms were in disarray. Police are following up on the case.

February 25th

Arrest

• Occurred 1:33AM to 1:50AM (2/25) – Boylston St./Hammond St.

Police observed a man walking in the middle of the street in dangerously foggy conditions. Upon identifying the man, it was discovered that he had a warrant out of Cambridge. The man was subsequently arrested.

• Occurred between 6:35AM and 7:10AM (2/25) – 270 Boylston St.

Police executed a traffic stop for a driving violation. Upon identification, the driver was found to have a suspended license. He was arrested for operating after suspension.

Burglary

• Occurred between 12:15AM and 2:40AM (2/25) – 64 Westbourne Tr.

Police responded to a report of alarm activation at the Driscoll School. The screens of numerous windows had been removed and it appeared that a break in had occurred. Police are following up on the case.

Larceny

• Occurred between 10:27AM (2/9) and 10:27AM (2/25) – Prince St.

Police responded to a report of identity theft. The victim stated that he had received a rejection letter for an American Express credit card, but he has never applied for one. After further investigation, it was found that five applications for credit were made with his information. Police are following up on the case.

• Occurred between 2:30 PM (2/19) and 10:30AM (2/20) – Dana St.

Police responded to a report of larceny. The victim stated that when she woke up and went to put on her watch in the morning she discovered it missing. Besides her family, the only other person in the house the night before was a cable technician. Police are following up on the case.

February 24th

Arrest

• Occurred 12:24AM (2/24) – 1016 Beacon St.

Police were responding to a business alarm activation when they observed a man walking from that general area. After identifying the man, they found him to be carrying a glass of alcohol. The man became uncooperative and belligerent and was subsequently arrested for public intoxication.

• Occurred 3:37AM (2/24) – 155 Harvard St.

Police observed a parked van on the side of the street that had appeared to have hit a trash can. The driver also looked to be asleep. Based on conversation with the driver and his level of consciousness, officers became concerned that he may be intoxicated. The driver was subsequently arrested for operating under the influence of liquor.

• Occurred 11:59PM (2/24) – Foster St.

Police responded to a disturbance at a residence. Upon identifying the parties involved, it was discovered that one man had two outstanding arrest warrants. The man was subsequently arrested.

Larceny

• Occurred between 6:30PM (2/23) and 6:30AM (2/24) – Hillside Rd.

Police responded to a report of larceny. The caller stated that several pieces of copper piping had been stolen overnight similar to another incident that had occurred last year. Police are following up on the case.

• Occurred between 9:00PM and 11:01PM (2/24) – Hurd Rd.

Police responded to a report of a larceny. The victim stated that she and her husband had just returned from vacation and that one of their suitcases was stolen while they were unloading their luggage. Police are following up on the case.

February 23rd

Arrest

• Occurred 7:13PM (2/23) – 2 Brookline Pl.

Police were made aware of an outstanding arrest warrant for a suspect. The warrant was issued by Waltham District Court for criminal motor vehicle violations and a by-law violation. The suspect was located and arrested.

• Occurred 7:59PM (2/23) – Harvard St./Green St.

Police executed a traffic stop for a driving violation. Upon identifying the driver, police confirmed the operator’s driver’s license was suspended. The driver was subsequently arrested for operating after suspension.

Fraud

• Occurred between 11:45AM (1/15) and 8:18PM (1/16) – Ivy St.

Victim reported that while looking over his credit account, he discovered six fraudulent charges. Police are following up on the case.

Malicious Damage

• Occurred 4:44PM (2/23) – 1324 Beacon St.

Police responded to a report of malicious damage to a town sidewalk. The caller stated that three males, dressed in black, were writing obscene language on the sidewalk in chalk. Police are following up on the case.

February 22nd

Arrest

• Occurred 9:45PM (2/22) – Park Dr./Medfield St.

Police executed a traffic stop due to suspicious activity. Upon identifying the operator, it was found that he had a suspended driver’s license and he was subsequently arrested for operating after suspension.

Fraud

• Occurred 8:17PM (2/09) – Colbourne Cres.

Police responded to a report of credit fraud. The victim stated that she and her husband had been on vacation in South Africa and had rented a car. Upon returning to the United States, it was discovered that two fraudulent charges had been made on his credit account. Police are following up on the case.

Burglary

• Occurred between 2:00PM (2/20) and 9:00AM (2/22) – Beacon St.

Police responded to a report of a breaking and entering and larceny. The victim stated that when he arrived into work this morning he noticed that the rear door had been forced open. It appeared that only a small amount of money, located in a desk drawer, was missing. Officers were also alerted to an attempted breaking and entering in a neighboring building. Police are following up on the case.

• Occurred between 9:45PM (2/21) and 9:00AM (2/22) – Harvard St.

Police responded to a report of a breaking and entering. The victim stated that when his employee opened his store in the morning, he noticed that the back door had been forced open and money was missing from the register. Police are following up on the case.

Larceny

• Occurred between 12:45PM (2/17) and 4:00PM (2/17) – 150 Fisher Ave.

Police responded to a report of a larceny. The victim stated that she had left her purse unattended while in her office. When she left work and went to CVS, she realized that her money and bank card were missing from her wallet. Police are following up on the case.

Breaking and Entering and Larceny of a Motor Vehicle

• Occurred between 6:00PM and 9:27PM (2/22) – 1 Station St.

Police responded to a report of a breaking and entering and larceny of a motor vehicle in the Station Street parking lot. The victim stated that after eating dinner, he returned to find the front driver side window of his vehicle smashed and his GPS unit missing. Police are following up on the case.

February 19th - 21st

Arrest

• Occurred 12:10AM (2/19) – 10 Brookline Pl.

Police responded to a reported medical emergency for a small laceration on a man’s finger. The injured man was yelling obscenities at a taxi driver and then began yelling at the officers, even at one point threatening them. The man was placed under arrest for disorderly conduct and threats to commit a crime.

• Occurred 8:30AM (2/19) – 1064 Beacon St.

Police executed a traffic stop for an expired registration sticker. Upon identifying the driver, it was found that his driver’s license was expired. The driver was arrested for being not duly licensed.

• Occurred 2:29AM (2/21) – 1195 Boylston St.

Police performed a traffic stop for a driving violation. Based on conversation with the driver, officers became concerned that she may be intoxicated. The driver was subsequently arrested for operating under the influence of liquor.

Graffiti

• Occurred between 7:00AM and 6:00PM (2/18) – 1425 Beacon St.

Police responded to a graffiti complaint. The reporting party showed officers the back door of the building where the graffiti was located. Police are following up on the case.

• Occurred 10:03PM (2/20) – 345 Harvard St.

Officer observed graffiti written on a door and wall in the back of the Devotion School. Several marks had been made with both black marker and green and white spray paint. Police are following up on the case.

Malicious Damage

• Occurred between 3:00PM (2/19) and 6:15PM (2/20) – 406 Harvard St.

Police responded to a report of malicious damage. The victim reported that upon returning to open up his café, he noticed that someone had thrown a Starbucks frappacinno bottle at his front window, causing a spider web crack. Police are following up on the case.

Larceny

• Occurred between 7:30PM and 8:00PM (2/17) – 99 Harvard St.

Police responded to a report of larceny. The victim stated that while she was in Walgreens, her wallet must have been stolen out of her purse. She noticed it was missing after she had returned home. Police are following up on the case.

• Occurred between 12:00PM and 12:30PM (2/18) – 1240 Boylston St.

Victim reported to police that her purse had been stolen while she was at Finagle-A-Bagel restaurant. She did not notice until Discover Card notified her of two fraudulent purchases on her account. Police are following up on the case.

• Occurred between 8:00AM (2/19) and 11:30AM (2/21) – 49 Beals St.

Victims reported that numerous window screens were missing from their first floor apartment windows. Four out of the six screens of their apartment windows were missing. Police are following up on the case.

Fraud

• Occurred between 1:00PM (2/17) and 9:30AM (2/19) – Arlington Rd.

Victim reported to police that she had received a phone call from American Express Credit Company. The company stated that someone was trying to open a credit card account in the victim’s name using her date of birth and social security number. Police are following up on the case.

• Occurred between 12:00AM (10/13/2009) and 12:00AM (1/12) – Aspinwall Ave.

Victim reported to police that eight fraudulent charges were deducted from her Bank of America credit card account. Police are following up on the case.

Robbery

• Occurred 11:27PM (2/20) – 51 Egmont St.

Police responded to a report of a stolen purse. The victim stated that she was walking down the street talking on her cell phone when a man walked up behind her and started tugging on her purse. The man managed to get the purse away from the victim and ran off. The suspect was described as a white male, approximately 6’ 2” and in his 20’s, wearing a black winter hat, dark coated fleece, and jeans. Police are following up on the case.

February 18th

Arrests

• Occurred 10:55AM (2/18) – 350 Washington St.

Victim came into the Brookline Police Station to report a violation of a restraining order. The suspect was also present. The victim stated that while leaving the courthouse, the suspect began yelling at her and was well within the 50 yards distance away from the victim that had been ordered. Police arrested the suspect for the violation.

• Occurred between 11:13AM and 11:45AM (2/18) – Longwood Ave./Sewall Ave.

Police executed a traffic stop for a driving violation. The driver stated that he had a driver’s license from Maryland but it was currently not with him. Upon a check of the driver’s information, it was found that he did not have a license in Maryland or in Massachusetts. The driver was subsequently placed under arrest for being not duly licensed.

• Occurred 9:11PM (2/18) – Harvard St./Beacon St.

Police performed a traffic stop for a driving violation. The driver stated that his driver’s license had been suspended. There were also two passengers also located in the vehicle. The driver stated that he felt like he was going to get sick, so the officers asked all of the passengers to get out of the vehicle while they performed an inventory of the motor vehicle. Officers found multiple forms of heroin paraphernalia, many containing heroin residue, and heroin itself. The driver was arrested for operating after suspension and both passengers were arrested for possession of a Class A substance (heroin).

Graffiti

• Occurred between 8:00PM (12/27/2009) and 10:19AM (2/18) – 12 Kilsyth Rd.

Victim reported that sometime between the above times and dates the side brick wall of his building was spray painted. The markings were made with metallic silver paint. Police are following up on the case.

Fraud

• Occurred between 7:00AM (1/25) and 12:05PM (2/18) – Cypress St.

Victim reported to police that she had received a bad check. The victim had posted an advertisement on Craigslist to rent a bedroom out of an apartment. She received interest from a woman and was sent a check in the mail. After depositing the check, she attempted to withdraw funds. At this time she was notified that she had received a bad check. Police are following up on the case.

February 17th

Arrest

• Occurred between 1:11AM and 1:30AM (2/17) – 850 Boylston St.

Police executed a traffic stop for a driving violation. Upon identifying the driver, it was found that he had a suspended driver’s license. The driver was arrested for operating a motor vehicle after suspension.

Graffiti

• Occurred between 12:03PM (9/1/2009) and 12:03PM (10/31/2009) – 1653 Beacon St.

Police responded to a report of graffiti in the men’s bathroom of a local Starbucks. The graffiti was located in three different places inside the bathroom. A recent inspection prompted the restaurant representative to file a report. Police are following up on the case.

Fraud

• Occurred 11:44AM (2/17) – Tappan St.

Victim reported to police that his mother fraudulently attained a credit card with his information. He discovered this after a collection agency called and stated he had an unpaid balance on his credit card. Police are following up on the case.

Larceny

• Occurred 12:35PM (2/17) – 129 Fisher Ave.

Police responded to a reported larceny that had just taken place. The victim stated that he had made an agreement using the website craigslist to exchange iPhone cell phones with the suspect. Since the victim’s iPhone was newer, the suspect agreed to pay extra along with the swap. After the exchange, the suspect drove away without paying the extra money. The victim’s friend then contacted the suspect, stating he wanted to buy a different phone from him. When the suspect arrived, police identified him and had arrested him for larceny, attempted larceny, and operating after revocation.

February 16th

Arrest

• Occurred 12:59AM (2/16) – Independence Dr.

Police executed a traffic stop for a broken headlight. While stopped, the driver and passenger began making furtive movements around the middle console of the vehicle, forcing officers to order both occupants out of the vehicle to perform a search for weapons. A vial of marijuana and a bag of pills were found during the search. The passenger was arrested for possession of a Class E substance and the driver was arrested for two default warrants.

Breaking and Entering and Larceny of a Motor Vehicle

• Occurred between 4:45PM and 5:00PM (2/16) – 1195 Boylston St.

Police responded to a report of a breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. The victim stated that he parked the vehicle, went into a local supermarket, and drove home. By the time the victim reached his house he noticed his laptop computer was missing. Police are following up on the case.

February 12th-15th

Arrest

• Occurred 7:50AM (2/12) – Woodland Rd./Heath St.

Police executed a traffic stop for a speeding violation. Upon identifying the driver, it was found that his Massachusetts driver’s license was suspended. As a result, the driver was arrested for operating a vehicle after suspension.

• Occurred 10:10AM (2/12) – Goddard Ave./Avon St.

Police performed a traffic stop for a speeding violation. The driver stated that she did not have a Massachusetts driver’s license, only a Brazilian passport. After confirming this information, the driver was arrested for being not duly licensed.

• Occurred 7:09PM (2/12) – 362 East St.

Brookline Police, with the assistance of Dedham Police, executed an arrest warrant for a probation violation in the town of Dedham. The suspect was arrested without incident and brought back to Brookline for processing.

• Occurred 4:05AM (2/13) – 99 Harvard St.

Police performed a traffic stop for a driving violation. Upon identifying the driver it was found that he appeared to be intoxicated. The driver was subsequently arrested for operating under the influence of liquor.

• Occurred 7:14PM (2/13) – Clyde St./Newton St.

Police executed a traffic stop for a driving violation. Both the operator and the passenger were deemed to be intoxicated. Officer’s placed the passenger into protective custody and, after a complete investigation, the operator was subsequently arrested for operating under the influence of liquor.

• Occurred 9:12PM (2/14) – Beacon St./St. Paul St.

Police performed a traffic stop for a driving violation. Upon identifying the driver, it appeared that she was intoxicated. After an investigation, the driver was subsequently arrested.

Breaking and Entering and Larceny of a Motor Vehicle

• Occurred between 7:30PM (2/11) and 7:43AM (2/12) – 48 Dwight St.

Police responded to a report of a breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. The victim stated that upon getting into his car in the morning, the front passenger side window was smashed. A GPS unit was missing. Police are following up on the case.

• Occurred between 1:00PM and 4:00PM (2/12) – 65-67 Green St.

Police responded to a report of a breaking and entering. The front passenger side window was smashed and the vehicle’s center console and glove compartment were open. The victim stated that an Ipod Nano was missing. Police are following up on the case.

Larceny

• Occurred 5:50PM (2/12) – Chestnut St.

Police responded to a report of larceny. The caller informed the police that her mother is prescribed medication and stated that she noticed that some of the medication was missing. The caller stated that her brother had admitted to taking the pills. Police subsequently questioned the brother and he was arrested for larceny.

• Occurred between 8:00PM (2/12) and 11:26AM (2/14) – 50 Thornton Rd.

Police responded to a report of two motor vehicle vandalisms. Officers noticed that all four tires were missing off of both vehicles and cinderblocks were used to prop them off the ground. Police are following up on the case.

• Occurred between 6:00PM and 9:00PM (2/14) – 1317 Beacon St.

Police responded to a report of a stolen passport. The victim stated that while in a local store, her passport was stolen out of her purse, which was located in the bottom of her backpack. She had left her backpack in the employee break room. Police are following up on the case.

• Occurred between 2:16PM (2/15) – 294 Harvard St.

Police responded to a report of shoplifting in progress. The caller identified one male and one female suspect and stated that they were in process of fleeing the scene. Officers caught up to both suspects. Both suspects were arrested for shoplifting. While in the process of arrest and processing, the female suspect supplied officers with a false name. Once her real name was discovered, it was found that she had an additional warrant. She was subsequently also arrested for both the warrant and furnishing a false name after arrest.

• Occurred between 4:15PM and 3:01AM (2/15) – 294 Harvard St.

While responding to a shoplifting incident, it was discovered that another shoplifting incident had occurred. The suspects were two middle aged female women with three kids. They were suspected for shoplifting a large amount of candy and were seen attempting to sell it later for “fundraising”. Police are following up on the case.

Malicious Damage

• Occurred between 12:00PM (2/01) and 11:43AM (2/15) – 22 High St.

Police responded to a graffiti complaint. The caller pointed out the expansive amount of graffiti throughout the building. There was also a beam that appeared to have been kicked in and a lock on a stairwell had also been damaged. Police are following up on the case.
